Elliott Richardson was back from injury and named on the bench for the trip to Nottingham. Fylde were enjoying a good run, unbeaten in nine games and The Coasters were not looking likely to let up yet. It was a good start by Fylde with Chapman heading against the bar in the opening minutes from Smyths corner and John Armah coming close to a tap in when Westwood crossed and the keeper got across well to keep it out. Fylde upped the tempo on the verge of half-time, Armah had space to get the cross in from the right and Lyons-Mayman rose high to win the header and nestle it into the bottom corner! Another goal for Lyons-Mayman! Aiden Butts showed why his name is first on the sheet as he got across magnificently on 45 minutes to tip wide Adkins' volley which looked destined for the net. Former Fylde youngster Warren Hodge came on for Notts County with ten minutes to go, Hodge on loan from his parent club Watford. Armah and Anderson both go for the same ball but it's left to Armah who passes down the right side for Preece, he crossed in first time but it's kicked out of the box but only as far as Smyth who strikes first time and it goes in from 25 yards out! He caught that one nicely! Anderson with the ball out to the left for Bala, he's been quiet tofay, he floats it into the box and Armah strikes it into the bottom corner! 3-0 on 84 minutes and thayt's surely the game. Adkins played the ball across the box for Hodge to grab a goal against his boyhood club and Preece took it away from him in the dying minutes. Jamie Bradley did find Stewart Maher on 93 minutes and he slotted past Butts to take away his clean sheet with seconds to go. That will be all and it's another big win for Fylde as they remain on top!
Duncan, you seem to have the team well drilled and you know what it takes to win, how do you see the team coming through a tricky December?
DF: We're in good form but we all know that can stop at any time. Our next two league games are against Hull and Southend who are around the top six currently so we just need to be at our best and approach the game in the right way. Everyone is pulling together and we are all on the same journey. We want to realise our ambitions and together we are fighting hard for it.

EFL Trophy Second Round
11th December 2040

Changes were made for the EFL Trophy Second Round tie and Elliott Richardson made his comeback after injury partnering Sean Jordan at the back. Stewart Milby and Anthony Anderson played in midfield with Luke Williams, Stuart Greene and Patrick Craddock playing behind Grant Thomas. Craddock with his chance to try to regain his place in the side after losing it to John Armah. Preece plays the ball forward on 4 minutes and Thomas heads it down for Craddock to dricve forward, he crosses into the box and Williams smashes towards goal but it's straight at the keeper. Milby was doing a good job in the middle, he passed to Alexander who crossed for Craddock but his shot was saved, Williams had an open goal and just rolled the ball into the net on 9 minutes! Chester produced a bit of magic from 25 yards when Jim McKeown hit a swerving free-kick over the wall and into the rop left cotner two minutes later, 1-1. Fylde battled for the second but Chester defended extremely well throwing bodies on the line to keep the ball out, McKeown floated the ball into the Fylde box on 26 minutes and Daly was unmarked to slot in the second for Chester. Luke Williams was hobbling and Craddock played him through on 35 minutes, despite the injury he forced a save from the keeper which the fans were appreciative of. Fylde continued to push Chester back and they done well to deal with the long balls forward but Fylde kept coming, it was a great ball into the box from Dale Alexander on 37 minutes to find Patrick Craddock to equalise! Fylde started the second half with high intensity and on 59 minutes Alexander provided the cross for Craddock whose header deflected off Jamieson and past the keeper to make it 3-2 to The Coasters! Chatziaros came on for Preece after the goal to fill in at Right Back. Chatziaros got down the right and crossed into the box but it was cleared, Greene Richardson kept it alive and passed to Craddock who chipped the ball into the box for Luke Williams to head in his second and make it 4-2! It's progression for Fylde in this season's EFL Tropy and they're in the hat for Round Three!

AFC Fylde vs Hull City
15th December 2040

It's one of the biggest games of the season so far for both teams, a win for Fylde who currently look unstopable could see them create a gap between themselves and Bury in third but a win for Hull could see them draw level on points with Plymouth. This, of course if results go their way. Lucas Digne's Hull cannot be taken lately, they possess a squad of quality players and the abiility to rotate if necessary. Aiden Butts kept his place in goal and Breacker just had to accept it was his turn on the sidelines. Tommy Smyth and Emeka Bala both started and in-form Striker Lyons-Mayman was named up top. Luca Buckingham started for Hull who was impressive with 5 goals in 5 games for The Tigers. It was a cautious start by both teams as they felt each other out but Fylde upped the intensity and it paid off, Bala played a great ball wide for Preece and he put it across the box which wasn't dealt with at all by Hull, Bala put the ball on a plate for John Armah to tap at the far post and put The Coasters in front! Luca Buckingham almost levelled on 42 minutes when he had an effort inches out from goal but Butts took one to the face for his team, great stop. The second half got underway and the football flowed for Fylde, Armah to Bala who played a silky pass through for Lyons-Mayman and he went across the keeper to make it 2-0 and get his 18th of the season! He is on fire! A few minutes later Smyth cut out the pass and played a great knock for Bala who left the keeper rooted to the spot when he poked in the third! Two assists and a goal for Bala! Chapman passed to Smyth on the edge of the Fylde box but his first touch let him down, Bean got it to Rathbone who struck from close range and rattled the cross bar on 62 minutes. Buckingham went off for Hull and L'Estrange came on, now he is a handy player. Hawkins played the corner into the box and Roberts headed towards goal but Butts pulled off a fine save by getting it off the line before eventually being cleared by Preece. The goal finally came for Hull with 5 minutes to go when Roberts peeled away from Chatziaros and make it 3-1. Richardson came on for Chatziaros to help tighten up at the back and it was enough as Fylde were worthy winners out there today with a fantastic performance! Who is going to stop The Coasters this season because this team of 2040 are looking unbeatable!
Duncan, top of the league, three defeats all season, Butts having the time of his life, Hull being demolished. What is going on and how does this all end?
DF: Well, we are just remaining focused, being at the top puts a target on our back but we can only keep going and doing what is currently working. The players are putting the shift in and what we do every day in training is paying off. The confidence is high, the players are happy, the group are bonded, more than I've ever known in all my years at the club. We keep going, we keep working and let's see where we are in May.

The first of three festive fixtures followed by MK Dons at home on Boxing Day and an away trip to Luton on 29th December. If The Coasters can keep up their performances then I'd say they were title favourites going into the New Year. Elliot Richardson got a start with Matty Chapman struck down with seasonal flu. Fylde had to make a change after 25 minutes as Emeka Bala went down injured, Luke Williams came on for Bala. Armah played the ball to Smyth who went for goal 25 yards out but it was beaten away by the keeper, the best effort of the match so far. Smyth tried the pass to Williams but it was cut out by Smith, Tommy Smyth wasd furious with Williams for not being switched on. Smith came forward for Southend and found Broughton who tried a long range effort but Butts saw it wide. Luke Williams took the ball down from Smyth's pass on 50 minutes and played it long for Lyons-Mayman to chase, he got there and went up against the keeper and blasted low into the bottom left corner, 1-0! Ferguson made a double change with around 25 miutes to go, Hutchinson and Patterson both going off due to picking up bookings and Anderson and Greene came on. 5 minutes later Greene took the Fylde free-kick getting it into the box and Luke Williams headed onto the underside of the bar and it crossed the line to make it 2-0! Williams with an assist and a goal since coming on but two minutes later had to go off with an injury. Fylde had no more substitutions available so had to see out the last 20 minutes with ten men. Ferguson told his team to keep the ball and try to slow the game down. Mooney had one last chance from the Southend corner but his header was seen over by Butts. Fylde stay top of the league by six points and it's points dropped for Plymouth and Bury.
DF: The injuries to Bala and Williams will see them out for a few weeks. It's not ideal as they are both going to miss a busy January when we need to be at our best. Both have suffered ankle injuries and will likely return around February.
The return fixtures were about to get underway and Fylde were without their superstar Emeka Bala. Grant Thomas started on the left and Elliot Richaerdson kept his place in the side with Matty Chapman named on the bench. Grant Thomas got the winner the last time these two sides met with a 83rd minute penalty so will be hoping he can get all three points again today. Thomas came down the left, he looked up for it today, passed to Westwood who sent in a deep cross which Armah kept it heading back across goal, Lyons-Mayman outjumped his man and put Fylde up after 4 minutes! Brilliant start for Fylde! Ron Patterson won the ball back just inside the Dons half, he passed to Smyth and he found Preece with a swerving pass on the right, Preece crossed and Lyons-Mayman with another header, 2-0! 22 minutes and Fylde are flying! 8 minutes later Connerton beat Westwood down the wing and he found Russell Carey inside the box who volleyed in from close range, 2-1. He scores against his former club. Tommy Smyth hit a rocket of a shot just after half-time which stung the hands of the keeper, conceding a corner. Preece took the corner and Lyons-Mayman went up but Carey seemed to have fouled him, the referee gave Fylde the penalty. Lyons-Mayman readied himself to take it with the aim of securing his hat-trick. He went down the middle and the keeper saved with his feet, however he got to the rebound and tucked it away, 3-1! Fylde made their first change with 34 minutes to go, Craddock came on for Armah. A few minutes later Connerton cut the ball back and Carey got down for a diving header which beat Butts and made it 3-2. Fylde can't afford to throw this away. Dale Alexander came on for Westwood at Left Back. Alexander intercepted the throw-in and Thomas sent it into the box for Craddock who saw it coming down before hitting the perfect volley into the top left corner, what a goal! Fylde came forward again, Craddock took out three men and played in Lyons-Mayman, the keeper came off his line and kept it out, Thomas followed up and he kept it out again. Preece put the corner into the box, Craddock went up with the keeper but he punched it clear, MK Dons couldn't get to the ball, Richardson turned his body and unleashed a volley into the top corner! A wonder strike from Elliot Richardson! The fans love that one! It has erupted here at Mill Farm! The replays show it was a flick on from Ron Patterson, brilliantly done! Patterson got the ball out wide to Craddock who smashed it into the box, Lyons-Mayman headed into the top left corner! 6-2! Fylde's finishing has been impeccable today! They are in sensational form and any team who gets in their way could be on their way to a humiliation.

Luton Town vs AFC Fylde
29th December 2040

The last fixture of the 2040 calendar year and promotion rivals Luton were up against it against the in-form Fylde. After their dominant display last time out, Ferguson made a couple of changes just to keep things fresh. Grant Thomas kept his place in the team due to no depth on the left, Stuart Greene started behind Lyons-Mayman and the rest of the side remained unchanged. Kieran Westwood put a dangerous ball into the box but Lyons-Mayman was blocked off and couldn't get there, good idea after 5 minutes. Aiden Butts showed why he was the current number one when he tipped over a header from close range from Wright on 16 minutes. That would usually be 1-0. On 35 minutes Smyth passed to Greene and he spotted the run of Armah down the right, he received the ball, went past three and slotted from inside the area! What a goal that was! 5th of the season for Armah! Ferguson made a couple of changes with 20 minutes to go, the unsung hero Jay Preece went off and Matty Chapman came on. Chatziaros shifted to Right Back. Anderson was the second change and he replaced Patterson. Kane knocked the ball down for Moyneux inside the box on 90 minutes and he put his shot wide, that was Luton's chance of a point and everyone must have thought that was it. Armah took the ball and bombed down the line, where did he get that burst of energy from so late in the game? He took the foul inside the Luton half and that surely must be it. Fylde slowed it down with the free-kick and that's it! They end 2040 flying at the to of League One, 19th win of the season and theuir sixth straight league win! How are they doing it?
DF: Well the hard work starts now, we're at the top but we have that marker on our backs and teams now know what we are about. They'll want to take us down and we just have to keep showing that resilience that has got us here in the first place.

FYLDE SIGN BEN HALEY!
The window opened today and Fylde announced the signing of 22 year old Central Defender Ben Haley from West Ham United. Haley has spent the first half of the season on loan at Southend United playing 22 times and caught the eye of Duncan Ferguson with his consistent displays. Haley is considered athletic and a mature Central Defender, fitting the criteria for what Ferguson is looking for. He is seen as a long term replacement for the outgoing Sean Jordan. "Ben is delighted to join us, he believes in our vision and fits our system. He'll be part of the first team squad for the remainder of the season and has a very important part to play" said Duncan Ferguson.

The New Year started with a trip to Oakwell. 17th place Barnsley were surely in for a grim day as they hosted one of the best Fylde sides assembled over recent years. New signing Ben Haley missed the trip due to a thigh injury. Ferguson made a few changes and Alexander and Chapman came into defence with Chatziaros being rested. Tommy Smyth was on the bench and Anthony Anderson started in midfield. Patrick Craddock also got a start on the right side. Fylde were currently on a 15 match unbeaten run but still shy of the club record of 23 set in 2027/28 when they were promoted from League Two. Fylde were on the receiving end in the first half but managed to get through most of it unscathed. Anderson came forward after breaking up the Barnsley attacck on 35 minutes, his ball for Lyons-Mayman was poor but he worked hard to get it back and take a shot whicvh Barnett tipped over the bar. Barnelsy were looking the brighter side and they put Fylde to the sword when Veza got on the end of Umoh's cross to beat Preece and Butts to make it 1-0 a few minutes before the interval. Alexander took the throw-in and Thomas took the ball inside the box, he went down but the referee indicated there was no foul, Anderson struck the ball low towards goal and it found it's way into the bottom corner, 1-1! Fylde made the first change on 57 minutes as Patterson went off for Smyth. Smyth didn't take long to get into the game and he found Craddock down the right with one of his excellent long range passes, he came forward and put it into the box for Thomas who got it beyond the keeper and put Fylde into the lead! Kutinyu played a forward ball for Walker which Richardson couldn't get to, he was through one on one and put it past Butts to level a few minutes later. Chatziaros was the next player to come on replacing the excellent Jay Preece at Right Back. Fylde were about to bring Greene on but a moment of brilliance from Thomas as he moved the ball away from his marker and curled a shot into the right corner to make it 3-2! What a strike! With seconds to go, Barnsley put Fylde under pressure and Barnes hit a long range shot that almost found it's way into the bottom corner, very close. Fylde secure the win although they were very much second best today at Oakwell.

F.A Cup Third Round

It's a massive occasion for Fylde as they were the visitors to Pride Park for the F.A Cup Third Round. 60,000 supporters were inside the stadium this afternoon for what could be an epic cup tie. Tommy Smyth was missing with q minor injury so he didn't make the trip. Grant Thomas was named in the side with Bala and Williams still sidelined but he done really well last time out scoring two goals. John Armah was named in the team and Lyons-Mayman led the line. John Armah had an early chance which was straight at the keeper but a good effort nontheless. Fylde were well organised and were defending well inside the first half. Eddie Wilson was too quick for Armah and his shot from 20 yards beat Butts and nestled into the bottom right corner on 35 minutes. Grant Thomas showed some skill dribbling down the left, he crossed for Lyons-Mayman but he skied the volley over the bar. Derby doubled their lead just after half-time, Butts saved from Meadowcroft's shot but Alcarel tapped home the rebound. Preece played the ball forward and Lyons-Mayman was in between the two defenders but he tried to chip the keeper, he should have went hard and low. Derby saw the game out with little threat from Fylde who will be happy to get back to their league campaign.
DF: Today was just not our day, Derby are a different class and rightly so, they are a Premier League side. We had some good spells and hopefully we showed Derby and the footballing world what we can do and what we want to do. The future is bright at Fylde, brighter than it's been since I started in management all those years ago. If we can keep hold of our assets, there's no reason why we can't be performing at a higher level next season.
Now out of the F.A Cup, it was the league and EFL Trophy left on Fylde's radar and the double was definitely a possibility. Ferguson had raised concerns over Tommy Smyth's fitness and questioned whether the box to box role was too much for him. For this game, Smyth started higher up the pitch with Hutchinson dropping into midfield. Luke Williams was back from injury and made the bench with Thomas named on the left. Emeka Bala was still a week or so away from being match fit. Fylde were off to a stumbling start but Doncaster were happy to sit back, Armah's long ball over to the left was kept in by Thomas, but his ball forward for Lyons-Mayman was overhit, adding to the frustration felt by the travelling fans. Doncaster got the ball forward on 40 minutes and Daz Beesley put in a good cross for Paterson who knocked it past a rooted Aiden Butts to make it 1-0 to Doncaster, nobody expected that. Fylde started the second half more like themselves, no doubt a few words from the gaffer to ignite them, on 52 minutes Smyth sprayed it wide to Armah, he hit it first time into the box and Lyons-Mayman was there to strike from close range! 1-1! Lyons-Mayman was like a headless chicken out there but that goal restores the faith. Doncaster were not giving up and a 25 yard strike stung the hands of Butts from Stanton but hit the back of the net, 2-1 Doncaster. Luke Williams came on for Grant Thomas after returning from injury with 30 minutes to play. Fylde were battling hard to find the equaliser, Smyth went off and Anderson came on. Sean Jordan was also on for Richardson. Chances were going begging, shots were going wide or over the bar. It just wasn't going Fylde's way. A very off day for Fylde inspiring a Doncaster Rovers victory which they were immensley proud of. A draw for Plymouth and defeat for Bury sees Fylde keep a 7 point lead at the top.

Duncan Ferguson's commitment to youth development was recognised again this afternoon when he handed Zach Winstanley a place on the bench. The 17 year old was impressive so far this season for the u23's and represented Republic of Ireland at the U19 European Championships scoring one goal in three games. Stuart Greene started behind Lyons-Mayman and Matty Chapman was named in the team in defence. Fylde's intensity was there and the fans were engaged, Smyth sent it wide to Preece who put in a deep cross, Williams got his foot under it and put into the left corner on 17 minutes! Fylde were playing some nice football down the wings but their shots were only coming from outside the box. The rain was beating down and vision was a problem at Mill Farm. For the fans remaining inside the ground, they gave Zach Winstanley a rousing reception when he warmed up down the line, giving Ferguson encouragement to bring him on. Preece found Craddock just on the edge of the Gillingham box and his chip towards the far post saw Williams rise and head in the second with 25 minutes to go! He might not be the flashiest of players but he works very hard when in the side. Winstanley's moment came with 20 minutes to go when he replaced Lyons-Mayman up top. Anderson played a great forward ball to Winstanley who took it in his stride, controlling it well but his finish was a bit off when the keeper came out to close him down. The Fylde defence were well orchestrated and the back line had another good game despite not having a lot to do. The result will go along way as Plymouth lost to Charlton and Fylde were ten points clear at the top!

Darlington were doing well in League Two after back to back promotions from Non-League Football They beat Hull in the last round 2-1 so they will be confident they can knock out another decent team. Fylde brought in Dale Alexander and Sean Jordan at the back, Stewart Milby was named in midfield next to Patterson and Zach Winstanley got his first senior Fylde start. Milby was knocked off the ball too easily and match fitness portrayed when he couldn't keep up, Knott took the ball and held off Patterson, he found Wilson who turned Preece and smashed it past Butts into the roof of the net on 7 minutes. Darlington showing they can play football! Darlington were a physical side and Fylde were affected by it, the referee was allowing a lot to go and Fylde were not happy with some of the decisions. Williams came forward for Fylde with 30 minutes to go holding off the challenge from Donnelly, he played a through ball for Winstanley but the keeper done well to deny him inside the box. Luke Williams went off with just over 20 minutes to go, Grant Thomas was his replacement. Winstanley had another great chance when he latched onto Preece's long ball and the keeper turned the shot away, he done well breaking free of the defence. Anthony Anderson came on at Right Back replacing Jay Preece and he had an impact with his long ball forward that found Winstanley who beat the defence once again and slotted into the bottom left corner! His first senior goal for Fylde! He is loving that one and so are the fans! With 5 minutes to go Thomas was brought down on the left and Greene took the free-kick, floated into the box, Chatziaros was at the far post and his charging header beat everyone and went in! Fylde go 2-1 up! His first Fylde goal! Minutes remained, Thomas cut inide and passed to Craddock who came forward, he passed to Winstanley who turned and took a shot that cannoned off the bar. He is growing in confidence. Fylde are victorious and they progress to the Quarter Finals! What a good display from Winstanley who got better as the game went on. A man of the match performance from the 17 year old!
DF: I'm proud of Zach tonight, his movement in the final third was top notch and he got a goal which he worked hard for all night. That is his moment and I want him to enjoy it. If we get to Wembley this season, he is down to him stepping up and being mature.

Fylde were encouraged by the return of Emeka Bala who had missed around a month of football due to injury. Bala was straight back in the team and it was a strong side selected with the omission of Elliot Richardson for unknown reasons. Ben Haley was named on the bench for this one and despite scoring on his first start, Zach Winstanley was also named on the bench. Fylde had a two day break before playing promotion rivals Plymouth Argyle at Mill Farm. Ten seconds into the match and Darren Turner went through John Armah and the referee waved play on! That was an awful challenge! Fylde carried on and Preece's free-kick towards the far post for Matty Chapman was well directed as he headed home his first of the season and his first Fylde goal! Fylde were all over Wimbledon, passing it round the box nicely and Westwood's shot was going into the top corner until Allan got across to tip it over. Smyth passed to Armah who passed to Patterson and he fed it back, Armah played it into the feet of Lyons-Mayman who held off his man and put it low past Allan making it 2-0 on 30 minutes! Armah and Bala exchanged passes, Westwood came into the fold and his cross into the box was cleared. Jay Preece took it down nicely, turned onto his left and placed it into the bottom left corner, 3-0! His first of the season! Not even half-time and Fylde are coasting! Fylde made a change with half an hour to go, Preece going off and Ben Haley coming on for his debut! Chatziaros moved into Right Back. Bala went off a few minutes later after his return from injury and the man of the moment Luke Williams came on. Wimbledon pulled a goal back after a mistake from Chapman allowed Danny Tierney move in the box and beat Butts from close range. Williams put in a great cross and Armah headed wide. It should have been the fourth. Chatziaros retrieved the loose ball and knocked it to Haley, he sent it long over the defence and Luke Williams took it down, he crossed into the box and John Armah finally got his goal! 4-1! Brilliant defending by Ben Haley closing down Adkins late on in the game. The 22 year old may have a future here. Danny Tierney was once again given too much space and he slotted to make it 4-2 with minutes to go. Surely not? No! Anthony Anderson made sure of that when he took the ball from 20 yards out and smashed it into the left corner! It's a good performance from Fylde but they have to be at their best when Plymouth come to town. Plymouth could only draw with Gillingham and Fylde are now 12 points clear! Champions 2041? What a season it wil be for Duncan Ferguson!

NO PUNCHES PULLED WITH DANNY ROWE
Let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet. Things are going really well and we are blowing everyone away but we have to keep winning before we can relax a bit more. Any further injuries to key players will be a massive loss but I have to say that the fringe players are stepping up to the mark. Luke Williams has been great for us, Stuart Greene is another one and I've got to reserve praise for Aiden Butts who has proved everyone wrong that he is ready. He has been in top form and has 7 clean sheets from 14 starts. Jay Preece is having his best season and based on what I've seen so far, he should be in the running for our Player of The Season. His hard work up and down that line often goes unnoticed but he is always in the right places and can be counted on. Lyons-Mayman is hitting the net on a regular basis and now we've got Haley to provide cover in defence as required. The gaffer has got everything right this season and is taking the club in the right direction. The yourth players are looking promising. Winstanley scored a great goal and I've been keeping an eye on Jon in the youth team and he is getting more and more game time. Plymouth is our biggest test coming up. They beat us 2-0 at home this season, Nick Kennerdale came back to haunt us but after their draw with Gillingham, let's go there and take what's ours and bring back the three points to widen that gap. UTFC!

JAMES GOULD JOINS FYLDE
DF: It's great business to bring in James for the second half of the season and shows how strong our relationship is with Tottenham Hotspur. We now have six players on loan at the club and can only use five in the matchday squad so there will be some sort of rotation as and when it's needed.
