28th December 2031

Just one day's rest in between fixtures for the teams today so Ferguson made changes to the starting line-up with Greg Taylor and Steve Stockbridge playing as full backs, Declan Marshall, Sean Jones and Jack Quinn all got a start. Patrick Uttridge served his second match suspension. Wigan were hosting mid-table Rotherham and a win could see them overtake Fylde for the top spot. Former on-loan winger Bryan Johnson lined up on the right for Sunderland, the winger spent two seasons at Fylde and was integral in back to back promotions for The Coasters. Fylde weren't off to a great start when Sean Jones pulled up on 4 minutes with a thigh injury, Tyrone O'Neill came on and played on the right. Early warning signs for Fylde when Sunderland smashed the post on 6 minutes urging the fans to become unsettled in the stadium. Bryan Johnson came forward for Sunderland and passed inside to Thorndike, he brought the ball forward and lobbed it into the box, Stockbridge got a touch but couldn't control it, it fell to Lee White who smashed the ball into the top corner, the black cats take the lead. Lee White was giving Fylde a torrid time and came close to a second striking the post. O'Neill went up top and Jack Quinn moved over to the right in the hope of getting the equaliser. Maddox took the corner for Sunderland and Henderson headed it clear, Johnson took it for Sunderland and smashed it into the top right corner to double the lead. The former Fylde player is giving them the runaround and Fylde look lost. 57 minutes gone, Thorndike played it forward and Lee White beat Feeney and McPherson for pace and smashed it into the net to get the third. Fylde certainly falling apart. Hutson and McKimm-Forster came on but it changed nothing. Greg Taylor was having a nightmare at left back and Bryan Johnson was destroying him. The final whistle couldn't come quick enough as the boo's rang around the stadium on the sound of the whistle.

DF: I didn't recognise any of those players out there today. To see them conduct themselves like that against a fatigued Sunderland side was embarrassing. I get players asking me all the time when will they get a chance, they get the chance and they don't perform. They can choose to sulk about it but it's not how it works here at Fylde. Greg Taylor was lucky to still be on the pitch, I should have took him off and played with ten men.

JANUARY TRANSFERS

Joe Donnelly

22 year old Donnelly joins Fylde from Hamilton Academic who currently play in the Ladbrokes Championship. Donnelly has had loan spells at Forfar, Queen of The South and Inverness Caledonian Thistle but has been a regular starter at Hamilton for a number of seasons. Hamilton could not refuse the £275k transfer fee from Fylde and the winger is looking forward to getting to work at Fylde. "I've heard a lot about them and their rise through the leagues, it's a remarkable story and I want to be part of the future. Fylde are managed well and have a very talented squad, I can learn a lot here."

Richard Macrae

27 year old Richard Macrae is an experienced central defender who came through the Manchester United youth academy. He signed for Plymouth Argyle in 2023/24 and has made 287 appearances scoring 7 goals. He has achieved 17 u21 caps for Ireland and brings a lot of experience to his new club who Fylde signed for 150k.
"I sit here today as a Fylde player but I want to thank the supporters at Plymouth for backing me over the years, the coaching staff and managers. I wish the team the best of luck in League Two and in their bid for promotion back to League One this season. Fabian Delph has taken the reigns this week and I believe he has what it takes to see them promoted. I am also excited to help Fylde chase promotion this season and make a return to The Championship. The hard work starts now."

Richard Macrae will be cup tied for the next match against Swansea City but Joe Donnelly will be available for selection.

This anti Hendo agenda is just what Ward wants. He'd love to pocket the cash from that sale.
I'm with the carpetbagger on this one. If we can get 15k for that sale we could upgrade the change rooms, bit embarrassing we're still using that burnt out caravan since Ward sub-let the home change rooms out to dodgy danny rowe to grow those plants no one is supposed to know about.

Shush. Loose lips sink ships. No one supposed to know about Operation Forest of Green.

The first game of 2032 was the F.A Cup Third Round tie against Championship side Swansea City. O'Neill and Bytheway were missing through injury but Uttridge was back in the team and Joe Donnelly was on the bench. The sell-out crowd were vocal in their support for the team as a place in the Fourth round could be decided in 90 minutes. Fylde started well keeping possession and doing a good defensive job against Swansea in the opening 20 minutes. Henderson won the ball back for Fylde on 21 minutes and played it forward for Jack Quinn who knocked it past the last man and was one on one with the keeper, he put it low into the bottom corner! 1-0 to Fylde! Brilliant finish from Quinn! Swansea were coming at Fylde but were not getting their shots on target, Fylde done a great job defensively to not allow them space. Can Ferguson's men hold on and see it out? With 30 minutes to go Fylde went more defensive with an extra body in the middle. Hutson was taken off for McKimm-Forster. Fylde were battling hard and making it difficult for Swansea, McKimm-Forster won the ball back in the middle of the park and played it wide to second half sub Sean Jones, Jones won the corner with three minutes to go. Into time added on and McMillan had the ball for Swansea inside the Fylde half, he knocked it right to Ojo but John Jones done brilliant blocking the cross. With only seconds to go Swansea had a throw-in at the corner flag, Ojo threw it into the box but it was picked up by McKimm-Forster and the whistle is blown to the delight of the Fylde fans! It's a win for Fylde as they progress to the next round of the F.A. Cup!

DF: It was a gritty performance, we dug deep and we were magnificent. The goal was brilliant and we done well to hold the lead under much pressure from Swansea. I'm proud of the hard work we put in and ecstatic we are in the hat for the fourth round. The competition gets harder but I feel we can give anyone a game if they come to a ground like this.
