That was odd. The only explaination is Russel had no idea he was there. Could have been a lot worse.
Mercedes still only being able to obtain a fifth place on the grid shows how much they've regressed as a competitive team.
I haven’t watched it back but he was on course for 2nd on his final lap but must have screwed up in the 3rd sector

Would love to see Hamilton start to put pressure on Verstappen - he would absolutely melt when he doesn’t get everything handed to him on a plate.

He’s good enough to deal with the pressure and had plenty of adversity in the 2021 season and didn’t fall apart.
He’s elite tier driver, that said every driver makes more mistakes when they are pushed.
He’s got a black and white flag for track infringements, so when his engineer tells him to lay off the pressure he goes and tries to get fastest lap.
I’d give a wry smile if I didn’t think he was an utter entitled tit.
