Alonso and Hamilton defo both more error-prone now they are in their late 30s/early 40s

To be expected really. Still the 2 best drivers alongside Max though.

Russell has had a great recovery drive, second was possible for either Merc i believe.

A dangerous race. Needs moving.

Yeah, commentators saying how clean Hamilton is in wheel to wheel racing, but there's been several instances where he's hit other drivers recently. This reminds me of the two incidents with Albon when he was at RB, most likely costing Alex a win in Brazil I think it was.

Pretty decent quali so far, Max being a spoilt little bitch once again as soon as something doesn't go perfect for him. Probs still get pole mind you.

Sprint races = wham. The sport is already boring enough with one team dominating and there so rarely being a Championship fight. I'll savour that 2021 fight for years to come.

Should just have a one off tyre for that race, a different spec to all the others used over the weekend. Would at least introduce some Jeopardy into it and not spoil Sundays race by everyone gathering tyre data.

The sprint race before this weekend was good to be fair and they and the attached quali are still better than FP2/FP3 which is the alternative.

It also increases the chances of error from the top teams due to only having one free practice session rather than three.

If you give all the teams as much time as possible to nail their setup you are minimizing the chances of the grid getting mixed up as less mistakes will be made and you will end up with a more accurate running order based on car performance. One practice session at least gives some hope that a top team may make a mistake resulting in a switched-up running order.

But yes they aren't usually great because F1 races typically require strategy in order to have some form of intererest.
