They have always been pretty useless bar the odd blinder like Hungary 2021

From 1.8 seconds behind Norris to 7 seconds behind. The only benefit being you have 2 lap fresher hard tyres which are never going to offset the 5 seconds lost from keeping him out. Dumb.

Also lost 10 seconds in total to Verstappen. Genius.

Actually embarrassing how bad Merc and McLaren strategy has been. Leclercs strategy has been awful as well.

Max was there for the taking (well probably not) but today had he not lost 10 seconds to Max he'd be right with him.

They will be emboldened by the belief that if they do make a mistake, the car could probably be pushed to counter any loss of time they make.

Also, when things are going right, you're far more relaxed. Mercedes are chasing points and arguably need a result, so the pressure is on them.
