Frank Lampard is a useless manager

Benitez left us 16th in the table 4 points or so above the bottom 3 with half a season left.

To say he got us out of a relegation scrap is ludicrous he kin put us right in it man ! 5 points behind Burnley in the bottom 3 at one stage and that was with Richarlison up top for us.
Benitez didn't win a game for as long as Lampard did when he was sacked and it was painfully obvious what was happening with agent fatknob at the helm.

But at least he knows the city so it's all ok

This is a seriously unhinged take, we were destined for relegation with the form that was established by the has been, before he was sacked we had 9 losses in thirteen games and were getting demolished by Norwich while off the pitch he was creating disord behind the scenes getting in rifts with players and successfully ousting brands to dictate some odd transfer decisions as he had designs to consolidate his influence at the club.

Frank inherited a shambolic and demoralized squad, so yeah although he was limited as a manager he actually made surviving relegation possible by embracing the club and galvanizing the players which Benitez being a cold and detached despot was incapable of achieving. He deservedly was sacked this season due to poor management but he also had to contend with asinine recruitment which he might of been potentially culpable for. But the last 13 games that Benitez oversaw were incredibly bleak lacked any coherent strategy and did not look remotely salvageable even though we had not entered into the relegation zone it was inevitable through the miasma he introduced into the club.

Im not disputing Benitez didnt deserve the sack for the run we were on - but he didnt have us in a relegation battle.

The only two managers in the Moshiri era who've managed that feat are Silva in his 2nd season and Lampard in both his seasons.

And Benitez in the half season he was sacked.

If you're using these metrics - he fits them perfectly. Relegation form. Crap relegation manager.

They were both just as wrong for the club, for different reasons.

There, I have resolved this insane discussion on who was worst.

I could definitely see Chelsea giving Lampard the job until the end of the season. I think if they can’t get anyone in then they’ll go with him and hope the excitement of it all can get them a Champions League win.
I do actually think he’d do well with those players, too.
