I'd be astonished as there's countless examples of managers walking from jobs against the will of their employers and I struggle to think of an instance where that has happened. Anyway, my original point was a deal to bring Rooney in would be a formality and the administrators of Derby County would not be holding out for a king's ransom given the nature of what they're there to do.

And if they can't afford to pay a manager then they'd be in no position to enforce a contract.

Apparently they're bankrupt and in administration but can afford to pay their manager millions a year and entice him to stay amidst interest in him.

At least that's some solace if we end up in the same boat.
