2021/22 Frank Lampard

The Cult of Frank wont admit it but he's making a lot of mistakes at present.

Dont want to be too harsh on him today as the Red card hit us hard but he just has no game management at all - take DCL off, put another CM on in Allan and play 4411 defensively in the 2nd half when 2-1 up.

If we go down its not on today for me or even Burnley away but the Watford away game - already relegated and 7 players out missing and Frankel plays 3 at the back and doesnt change it until 75 minutes when Watford offered nothing all game.

We threw 2 points away in that fixture playing silly buggers going for the draw.
DCL was an outlet, Gordon or Gomes would be the one but we don’t know how serious a knock Allan has if he has one

10 men mate that is all I can say to why we got beat. Not going to beat up Lampard because of that

I agree cant really put the full blame on him today as that Red Card knocked us for six.

But he's had plenty of near moments prior to today to get us over the line but bad game management/subs has left us in the mix.

That Watford game still annoys me.

Individual player errors have cost us under both managers, there is absolutely no doubt Benitez ruined us and it may quite well be too late we switched him out but player errors leading to goals, bad refereeing decisions, completely corrupt VAR decisions an the players not really turning up for 2/3rds of the season are all to blame.

I like Lampard and want him as manager next season when he has a chance to get rid of some expensive duds and can start building his own team. He likes it here and understands what the Goodison crowd want, which st3ems from his playing days knowing what a bear pit it can be and they've really shown up for the players these last couple of months.

Lampard IN for me.

Yeah but you can look back over the years and pick games that have cost us...........it is called hindsight. We also have to take into consideration we are just not a very good team.....player wise

Does it matter at this stage? At least go down swinging.

Nothing will change though so theres no point getting a ban or a fine really. What will happen? ref wont be suspended for a week, a ref's punishment for a shocker is by getting a weekend off.

You put Allan on. Even Davies. End of the day, if they're on the bench they can play.

I wouldn't be surprised him starting Gomes because we'd have more of the ball against Brentford than the previous games against Chelsea and Leicester and we're at home.

But once that red card happens AND we're 2.1 up at half time....you got to pack the midfield and use any defensive player we have.

Got to go for at least at point which makes the next game less pressured as a draw at home seals our Premiership status.

He dropped a massive one again after being good the past month.

Any time this team is progressive and on the front foot...it loses. It's not built for it. Regardless of sending offs, it's a team that only works playing deep and without the ball.
Half time 2-1 up. Park the bus 5-3-1.

Pickford

Iwobi Coleman Welch Holgate Mykolenko

Davies Allan Doucouré

I agree

He has got the fans united as one again, credit to the supporters for that too.

These aren't his players. He needs ot be given some room to actually bin off deadwood in summer regardless of relegation or whatever.

We need change, we really do. We need a reliable leader at the back, Mina is a big leader but not reliable.
We need a leader in midfield, we have none.
We need a huge amount of freshness and mobility and midfield
And most of all we need some actual technical footballers broughtt in.

Yes fine

But we had no centre halves. Theyve all disappeared at the crucial moment.

Revisionist thinking of course but you play Kenny, Coleman, Holgate as a 3. Allan in front. Coleman and Kenny have played in a back 3 this season at some point so it's not alien to them.

Gomes and Gordon lasted 70mins. He made 2 attacking subs and 1 defensive with 10 men.

Ridiculously poor.

100%

Instead he put Kenny and Gray on at 2.3.

Allan nursing an injury (when isnt he?)
Davies not kicked a ball for god knows how long and he wasn't good at kicking balls before that.
Welch a kid who hasnt played a senior game.

Was not a good deck of cards today with 3 CB's injured.

If there was ever a game where we needed our big CB's to be fit and healthy, it was today. Ironically, had someone else been sent off, branthwaite may have thrieved in the deep defending game.
