Which is what I said it ended badly - but it never ended in the bottom 3 like it did under both Koeman and Silva and there were some positives of his tenure alongside the negatives.

Benitez is gone now, the Rafatonains need to come to terms with the fact Benitez was EFC manager and move on and leave the hatred at the door as he lives in some people's heads rent free and still riles some up to the point they refuse to acknowledge any positives of his tenure.

Living rent free in our heads ahahhahaha honestly lad you are pathetic, no one cares about that fat mess we care about the club the fact your even replying back with anything other than bad words to say about a manager who won 1 game 15 is madness. Your not a better fan than others because your supported a kopite. You need to realise that and soon.

I do have a bit more faith in the likes of Gordon Branthwaite Godfrey Mykolenko Gray there does seem to be some hunger there and hopefully we can add a few more to that list like Patterson Alli Dobbin Simms Nkonkou Onyango etc.

Then there’s the likes of DCL Richarlison Mina Doucoure Allan Pickford who have most of the time maintained a decent level for us.

It’s the other lot I want out, the ones who have shown that they won’t concentrate, can’t avoid errors, aren’t good enough, will throw a rancid performance in at any point, don’t care, or can’t be bothered to ever get fit.

Coleman Kenny Keane Holgate Delph Davies Gomes Siggurdson Iwobi Tosun

Everton would be a lot better place in the short and long term if we just got rid of that list for good and replaced them with new signings or youth players.
We’re in violent agreement.

Just to play devils advocate here though Dave, lots of clubs have ex pro's in their academy structures. Very successful ones too Manchester United, Chelsea, back in the day Liverpool. I don't doubt treating the academy as (what appears to be) a bit of a charity is a problem, but I would say it's reflective of the board more than those involved. It's like, if I go into a workplace now, and people are taking liberties, my immediate thought is- why are they being allowed to get away with it. To me it's a club in the image of Bill Kenwright and DBB who ran the charity.

I hope Lampard can start to plug those gaps, and maybe pull some personnel across from Chelsea, but as you say it's short term, until the board make the changes. But if some of them have changed it in 20 years, you start to think that is what they want isn't it?
With all respect those clubs you allude to are built on success and their players are winners. Compare it to our ex players currently on the coaching staff. I’ve no issue at all Lampard bringing in a number of ex chelsea staff, they are accustomed to working with winners and will have high expectations. It will be interesting to see if unsworth is still involved next season as given time I can see Lampard wanting to being in his own man to run the under 23s and someone who he trusts with working with the young players.

can you name these positives please so we can address them point by point?

And thats the crux of the matter for some - even when we were winning and in 6th some were spewing their hatred.

Life's short mate you need to let go of the anger and see the woods from the trees.

7 goal freebie Townie - Benitez positive

£1.7 million Gray who's now worth at least £25 million - Benitez positive.

Given Gordon his breakthrough in the team - Benitez positive.

Chased an underperforming DOF and Medical Chief - Benitez positive.

Koeman and Walsh did far more damage than Benitez did, Koeman and Silva spent and wasted far more money than Benitez did as well.

The amount of abuse is unwarranted.

None of that matters when you can't get results on the pitch.

Could have stuck with him, had him have a huge list of positives like this but getting ready to start a promotion challenge.

Ultimately , he could have signed a whole team full or bargains and improvements but if he then had them losing most weeks as he was doing, fans are entitled to be angry.

"Theoden King stands alone!'
'He's not alone.'

These honorable paragons of chivalry are all that stands between the great tactician/magician Fattalf and the awful orcs of BOBA whose sole purpose is to destroy this football club. Among them is a particularly vicious lot of traitors who are so treasonous as to spend great amount of effort, time and money to travel hundreds of miles to watch the greatest tripe that has been served to them in living memory. Outrageous villains, aren' t they?!

Saying Benitez positive makes you sound like you are the Jimmy Carr of GOT.

TLDR but the usual drivel from you about players being to blame no doubt.

Benitez was sacked far too late and it was idiots like you who wanted to give him the time to carry the downward spiral on

I just hope we didnt leave it too late.

So now you don’t even read posts, you just assume what they’re about, and then make some sort of remark about Benitez with a few personal insults thrown in.

Stay classy Kev

Sure as night follows day we'll see a crisis for Lampard even before the end of this season. That's because the club runs on a short term cycle. It's baked into the outlook of fans now that any loss of form is a potential sacking offence. The expectation levels are daft for a club that's...well...rubbish, not to put too fine a point on it.

We are poorly governed, have a load of ex-players who were 'kin rubbish themselves by and large who stink the gaff out day in day out with their medicocrity, we have a below average squad of PL players...but the fans wont accept we have slipped out of that top 5th to 8th bracket we were in for ages before Moshiri arrived....in fact they still think we should be cracking the top 4.

The support of this club needs to fully accept we are absolute 'kin tosh as a football club at EVERY level. Be humble and dont expect anything other than at best mid-table (10th to 14th) for the next few seasons.

If they do, we might - just MIGHT - get into that new stadium as a PL organisation. If they dont, we are finished.
Hey GOT... is there any possibility of limiting this guy to just two posts per day?

I've never seen somebody get so many things wrong yet plaster his views so frequently for everybody to see, always dominating the conversation - often times with daft conspiracies.

It's a results business correct and I think Benitez's problem was he was more focused on sorting the off the field matters which ultimately seen a drop in performances on the pitch.

The performances and results were fine until we lost about 8-9 players to injury then he seemed to be focusing on the medical/recruitment departments which started to see on the field suffer as a result.

He rightfully lost his job but I think he's laid the foundations for Frankel to get results and push us on.

The fact Benitez had to even waste his time trying to sort off the field shenanigans out shows how poorly run the club is/was in terms of the Chairman/DOF. He should have been able to solely focus on the training ground as any manager should.

Quite sad to see Benni's bootlickers trying to derail the lampard thread and continue to spout absolute gash in support of that busted flush, tactically clueless, kopite dinosaur that they blindly followed without question.

The bootlickers are now also desperate for us to start loosing again and for these players to down tools on the new management team - it's just quite a miserable place to be.

I'm gutted they can't enjoy the win and performance and allow a little optimism to seep back into their Benitez blackened souls.

Lampard and his team have had only a week to coach there ideas with this squad, but what I saw yesterday was the players putting that coaching into action - aggression, wanting the ball, running off the ball, playing on the front foot - absolutley everything opposite to what we had under their rafatollah after 6 months. 1 week for god's sake.

The players might down tools and we might have some poor displays, we all know this as we're evertonians, We've seen it all before. I also have a lot more faith in lampard rooting out that behaviour and sorting the squad out going forward.

I just don't get why the bootlickers have to come on here with their miserable attitude and doom mongering after a great performance and win under the new gaffer - its just very sad.

Have a day off lads, enjoy it FFS.

The moment he’ll turn on Lampard is when he starts playing Patterson.
Naa he's backtracking now on Patterson already.

Saying that 'for the record, I've said the lads decent going forward.

After putting up such a protest against him, standing outside his mother's house in Scotland with yellow stained bedsheets, claiming "there ain't no protest like a Davey protest".

Bitch please.

It genuinely worries me how bi-polar our fanbase are becoming? Lampard is already being declared the second coming after just one game na d a couple of pressers? I am pleased he is here, i suspect he might be. Agood appointment, but please dont deify him so soon, because after a few defeats (and they will come) the same people will be calling for his crucifixion. Temper what we have just witnessed ( a good positive performance) with our opponents ( a poor side, who by and large played poorly). I am not putting a downer on yesterday, i loved it, and was very happy with everything, but it was one game guys, get a grip!

While I’d normally agree I think it’s understandable given the stupid and damaging choice the owner made last summer. It sounds like it’s been hell for many supporters to have to stomach that so now even this slight show of something positive has us buzzing
