Thought he was pretty spot on in his assessment of the game last night. At least knows where the improvement is needed.

He's basically admitting he's about to hit 30 and his legs have gone and that's why he can't keep up with the likes of Rondon, Gomes and Coleman.

Fair play to the old timer, his honesty is appreciated.

In fairness, if he was easily burning off DCL Gordon Gray then I’d be seriously worried about our attack this season. More worried than I already am.

What he said suggests to me he is mainly playing 3 at the back because we don't have a six he can rely on. I am worried about the set piece issues and the lack of creativity and possession but that was our first preseason game. It's why it's a bit odd we haven't had any before now and highlights how desperate we are for additions.

Thats Everything then. I cant disagree.
Nothing goes through or sticks with the midfield. Davies and doucoure are not good enough. Neither are other options. If we cant control any game whatsoever in the middle of the park we are constantly going to be putting the defence under pressure.
Said it before and i'll say it again. I think we have the worst midfield in the league. It really makes very little difference who the manager is. If you have central midfielders that are slow and ineffective with the ball it collapses so much else in the team and tactics.

So when do you think Lampard will walk away? A month? 3 months? Will he make christmas? Or he will do what his predecessors did: just wait for the inevitable and go home with a nice pay off?

I think hes a grounded bloke and hes very personable and it seems like he genuinely has enmeshed himself with the culture of the club connecting with the fans. I want him to succeed but he needs greater support from the club hierarchy to actually be able to play the way he envisions. Otherwise we're going to struggle again

Who in their right mind would walk away from a 7 figure pay off?!? Frank wants to be a Prem manager, and he currently is one. No doubt he wants to be here, the fans and board are all behind him.

Of course, it's a results business, Moshiri is no stranger to chop-n-change, so if we're in the bottom 3 at xmas, it's curtains for Frank. If not, he's safe as houses.

Very true. Very likeable guy, says all the right things, everyone wants him to be a success here; but ultimately he's still a relative rookie and it's unclear where exactly his ability level is: somewhere between Championship with Derby and Champions League with Chelsea leaves a lot of room in the middle.

I get this, but this club could completely crater his reputation as a manager. It might be better for him in the long run if he gets out of here of his own accord. It would be very sad if it came to that but not surprising and would shine a light further on what’s going on at the top of the club. The issues are not at managerial level here, we can’t lose focus of that.
