2021/22 Frank Lampard

Not sure if anyone’s mentioned this yet, but the latest episode of the “Men in Blazers” podcast is worth a listen.

Almost 2hr live show from Washington DC with Tim Howard, Frank Lampard, Anthony Gordon, Jordan Pickford and DCL.

Lampard comes across brilliantly (as do the others tbf, especially Dom).

Someone brought up the derby, and Lampard said “if we’d got the penalty we deserved. 30 grand I got fined for that. It was worth every penny” lol
I was there last night. What a great time!
I posted some of my pictures in the Pre-Season thread if you are interested.
All of them were great but Frank was absolutely fantastic

If Lampard plays Gbamin, Gomes, or Davies at any time he needs sacking.
Pretty sure Gbamin is going into the final year of his deal, isn't he?!... £25m + prob about £80k a week for years in exchange for about 4 games.

Fully expect the board to offer him a new deal in December and be announced as an xmas gift to all Evertonians ?

The concern is Fronk doesn't seem to like his CDMs based on playing Kante further forward and seemingly no real links to a naturally defensive midfielder.

Come on we NEED a CDM in this team.

All our midfield are defensive midfielders. Mainly due to we sit so deep they have no choice. Bar Gomes. Fck knows what he is.

I'm afraid he has two years left on his contract. :( (n)
Ah, well if so, I guess there's plenty of time for him to dislocate his arse taking a throw in, be out for 15 months then get shipped out on loan to some random team from the Championship or China for fifteen minutes before leaving on a free (see Bolaise Mark Two).

Another wonderful piece of business by the Blue Brain Trust. ?‍♂️

Hadn’t had an injury for nearly a year, starting 14 out of 17 games in his loan at CSKA, finishing 9 and subbed off late on in 3

TBF I hadn't followed his progress at CSKA, my point was more I do not trust our tinpot medical department one iota. Typical Everton luck on first day of preseason he trips over a cone and is out for 34 years as our bungling idiots make it worse.

Even though his Everton career has been a debacle I don't really fault our recruitment team. He was rated in Germany from what I've seen and had a relatively spotless injury history before coming here. Theres more culpability on that he was brought in without proper time to settle in and I think that made him susceptible to the extensive injuries that he encountered.

Yeah a fair point I suppose, in the cold light of day. Think he had a few relatively minor injuries at Mainz if memory serves (week or so here and there). Serves my point that I'm convinced our medical dept is one of the most inept and incompetent in the 4 Pro leagues; do more damage than good.

Well Allan's still around...

In short term just go round to him and Doucoure in double pivot then a ball player infront of that. It worked under Ancelotti.

Expected Allan to be gone by now but there's been no links for him leaving at all so not sure what's going on there. Was restored as soon as his 3 match ban was over v Man. United, then started Leicester and Liverpool after and then benched for Delph for games after.

Guess Lampard just sees him as disrupted v top half teams as he was first one subbed usually when losing but until a good DM is signed he needs to be starting again for me.

I know Allan is far from the best midfielder in the world, but at least he looks like he gives a fuch, lives every minute/kick, gives his all and despises losing - be it a game or a tackle. Compare that to the likes of Davies or Alli who look like they couldn't care less if they get a run out or not. In an ideal world we'd have gotten him a few years earlier; maybe brought a bit of desire and fight to the team.
