I'd rather see action from the club rather than waffly words of cuddly nothingness from the one and only individual at Everton that the majority of people are currently well disposed towards. But fair play to the club: they know there is a market for this vacuous feel-good blather, and - best of all - it's effectively free. Let's stick fan-friendly Frank front and centre in the absence of genuine fan engagement from the top.

If the club must release interviews with the staff, perhaps Farhad Moshiri would like to reveal how he intends to replace the Usmanov funding and what his concrete plans are for the club over the coming season.

On second thoughts, let's not bother. "Good ebenig, Jim!"

Par for the course for every single club. I dont watch it for that reason aswell. But if its not put out then people will complain Everton's media output and coverage is lacking that of other clubs. There's an audience for it.

Regards action from the club. I'd rather, like in the past, we never just bought any old sh!te just to please fans frenzy for signings no matter who they are. We've been burnt more than most over the last 5/6 years just satisfying that hunger for transfer news. This clearly looks a bit different now due to restrictions. But the point is still valid. The knock on effect of Ronald Koeman given an open cheque book and buying anything with a pulse hurt this club a lot.

I watched the interview and he didnt seem to be completely coming out with the usual PR lines that amount to nothing.

I also get the feeling that he knows that the real work is just starting and I like that he has continually mentioned how we need to be better physically and Chris Jones came up with a plan to get us doing just that.

As much as they may be criticised on here, I think Gbamin and Gomes seem to have the talent to play at PL level but their physicality has been lacking for some time. If this plan of Jones' can elevate their levels then they go from being players who are bloating the wage bill for no return to players that can make a contribution and one less position to look at having to sign someone for.

Best he'll get from Gomes is from stroll to trot.

Really hope we can get them fit and sharp this season, we desperately have to stop the amount of injuries we are getting and hopefully being fit and strong will help with that.

re Gbamin and Gomes, we may have the plans in place, just not sure they have the drive to make the most of it. Would be great if they could contribute as it's going to be hard to shift them.

I always feel that managers and players should just refuse to do any interviews/press conferences just to see the criticism they will obviously get for not doing them.

With the media duties they are in a no win situation, they say something positive, it means nothing, they say something negative, how dare they say something negative, they say something neutral, how dare they say something neutral, they don't say anything at all, how dare they not say anything.

If you don't like interviews and think they are meaningless then don't watch, nobody is forcing you.

If he doesn't get a couple of players especially in midfield, it could be a hard season. I will say however I do not think that squad is as bad as last season looked, I genuinely believe Benitez caused that much disruption/loss of morale that Lampard did really well to turn it around eventually.

We need to kick on but if we were to go now, we have a mid table squad imo.
