All 5 you mention above were one trick ponies though. The parting of Moyse coming out of the blue did us more damage than many will probably realise. We had a brief respite under Martinez but the next 5 were knee jerk appointments, maybe apart from Sam who came to do a job...and did it.

Frank may bomb, I know that, he may be here for 10 years and we see silverware.

It's just that this does not feel like another knee jerk, it feels this time like it's the start of a long term strategy.
Not just because of the great display yesterday either, it just feels different how this has been executed.

The biggest positive for me is the decent backroom staff brought in there feels more professionalism in the dugout.

But ultimately its the 11 on the pitch that win you 3 points and this squad have let manager after manager down.

We've consistently had to deal with injuries meaning we cant get a settled side out on the field for long enough to build up a run of good results - the medical team simply needs to be ripped up.

We've consistently signed players not suited to the PL - Moshiri has to bring in a DOF who can address this.

The 11 on the pitch though have to play to managers orders in general, again it was the same staff on the pitch yesterday available for the manager last month. I think tactics, confidence and belief in the manager is more the point here. This squad is nowhere near as bad as it's appeared, it's been misused.

The mere fact that Rondon got so many starts, automatically gave the opposition an advantage and us a hill to climb from the word go.

If we could see it, then the players certainly could.

It's all about coaching - not having these players aren't good enough or too many injury excuses. I'm glad Frank had a chance to utilise the same players Benitez had before playing his own newbies, just to show that it never was about the players, it's about coaching, tactics and motivation - Benitez failed miserably with all 3 of those traits.

If you have technically limited players or you're missing a few through injury - you adjust your tactics and drill the players accordingly. Benitez was a stubborn dinosaur and either didn't get this, or refused to accept this philosophy and just ploughed on with the only method he knew.

That's why he got booted

Good post mate.

You could instantly see the change from the players, they looked more relaxed and weren’t afraid to express themselves. It’s obviously something frank has said to them. Under the last guy you could see they were restricted by his mad methods.

Early days I know but give him time and I think he’s a keeper.
That is more polite than I would have described him:coffee:

Cant agree, its part of the package but you need much more to build a successful side.

Klopps a brilliant manager but do you really believe the Kopites would have achieved what they have done if their medical/fitness/recruitment departments weren't top notch?

Rodgers has done a good job at Leicester - would that have been possible if they wasted the money we have on tosh?

Man City are run fantastically throughout in addition to Guardiola.

If key departments are not improved then Lampard or any other manager will have a lot to contend with to take us to the places the fans crave.

I'm going to wait a bit for that in bold. Without a doubt there was a change from the manager and coaching away from that dinosaur. But brentford at home was a good game to start. Newcastle on tuesday is a completely different game. A lot of this squad have vanished in games like this. And many of them think they can do it in the odd game and thats enough. Done my bit for a few games mentality.
Fingers crossed Lampard gets rid of that.
No excuses. Have to turn up on tuesday.
