The problem with that statement is that fans have short memories - could you imagine what Goodison would have been like last season in those first 8-9 games under Ancelotti with us in the top 4 playing good football?

Do you not remember how boss it was in El Loco's 1st season watching us play boss football with Lukaku on fire as we sat in 5th?

The problem is we have a good few months or season then the same problems start to rear their heads with this squad and its not long before the players look like they cant string two passes together.

Under Martinez's first season it was "Moyes who?"

Under Carlo it was "Silva who?"

Now one game in its "Raffa who?"

Lets be more cautious this time because I guarantee a few good results / performances and the talk of europe is back on the agenda and when these players inevitably have their poor patch and results tumble the pressure will be amplified on the manager and its a repeat cycle of the last 5 or 6 seasons.
So you are denying the change in atmosphere that I described in my last post?

Staying up is all that's on the agenda this season after your manager dragged us into a relegation scrap.

Players will have a poor patch, that's what happens with mid table teams. What we have just seen wasn't a patch though. It was close to half a seasons worth of poor play and management.

Of course it should be "raffa who". He was garbage and the majority of the fan base knows it (apart from certain posters on here). And many knew what would happen before he was hired and knew it was a garbage appointment then as well.

Lampard won't get that level of scrutiny. He also is more likely to change the system when the struggle does come. He has already spoken about taking responsibility at those times. Something which your manager never did.

lol lol lol

Delusional that lad!

I seen enough in that first training video to see there was actually a plan to play a certain way.
It was obvious Gomez was gonna play as you could see he was being used as a pivot for players to pass through. Interestingly in the last training video he used VDB in the same way.
Everything Lampard says is about having the ball and attacking, that should hopefully make us enjoyable to watch.
I just hope he gets the same support after his first loss.

It's clear Fronk has a tactical plan and style of play that he has managed to impress on the team and players in just one week of coaching them.

His press conferences and the way be has spoken about being here are positive and infectious, but he also understands the crappt situation the club has been put in prior to his arrival.

I understand there will be slip ups and errors, but if we keep trying to play football and do things the right way, like we did yesterday, then he and the players will get my complete backing.

It's the complete opposite to what we had before - that's why most rational evertonians and non-Benni bootlickers will get behind what he's trying to do with us.

Keep going Fronky lad.

It's not delusional though. It is a fact. Frank will be given more leeway. That's why the previous Manager's hire was so stupid to begin with. He would have to have been near perfect for a long stretch to gain any good graces.

He'll be given more leeway than Benitez but he wont be given the sort of time that Marius naively believes should results/performances start declining.

Even Ancelotti started to be questioned within 18 months.

The vast majority of posters on here, have clearly stated, that they will back him even if we get relegated.

As long as he has a good go at sorting out the mess fat boy left behind and tries to get the team playing footy again, rather than just webbing the ball up to a statue up front, the fans will back him.
