No mate he really doesn't need to take some really.

He trains them, along with clement whose by all accounts a top coach/trainer. They do it in training, once they step over the line it's on them to 'do the basics' - yes tactical set up, whose playing where etc is Lampard but them not being able to execute the simple fundamentals of the game is ALL on them.

They’ve ignored manager after manager when it suits them

Maybe Koeman Silva Allardyce Ancelotti Benitez and Lampard all don’t know how to run a passing drill

The players at this club don’t take what they do in training into the match day. Multiple managers have mentioned it. Work all week on a tactic and then when they cross the line on match day they revert to this insipid nothing brand of anti football just shuffling around hardly working not tackling and unable to find a pass or make a run.

His interview last night made me decide to join the forums if I'm honest. I totally understand he's gutted about our summer transfer business (or lack of) and may be a way for him to take it out on the board publicly but under the radar so to speak. I was a little peeved to be honest with his words, saying we could be in a relegation battle. We all know that, but coming from the manager comes across like he doesn't believe the quality of his coaching can improve what is still a largely expensive squad. Whatever we think about the ability of them, 75% of what's on the field is reflective of the managers coaching/motivation and he seems to have given up in that respect already.

If we're relying on footballing ability, we're knackered.

Expensive doesnt mean they're any good. It just means Everton didnt know the value of a player. Poor signings over payed for. Reason we're such a mess.

Tbf to lampard i hear him bigging up this bunch a lot. He did it when he arrived. He often does it in the build up to games. At what point when you've just got beaten 4-0 by Minnesota do you sound upbeat and confident? Could you imagine the reaction if he came out and said it was good?

These players will get you the sack. Might be lampard. If they're around for the next manager they'll get him sacked aswell...and it carries on.

Spot on we have had manager after manager, we have to realise its deeper than the manager we have now it will take longer to turn around too. The rot starts with the mismanagement at the top of the club and spreads down to the gutless complacency of the players who will down tools when it gets hard and not implement methods if they don't like them. They're frauds largely. We sold one of the handful that isn't .

Sorry I should clarify. When I say we played well against Leeds I mean we played good football. Kept the ball, passing, etc. I think there is an Everton default style of play that managers can use at home. Essentially Goodison tactics. Do I think that it's a style implemented by Lampard? No.

So what your saying is, you want us to be a counter attacking team, but at home you want us on the front foot and press high like we did against Leeds even though in the previous post you said we should play counter attacking football which is basically what we done against Chelsea and Utd to get the wins but it wasn't the kind of counter attacking football you want to see?

Yeah it's quite obvious when one lays bare the evidence isn't it.

I think the manager knows the players he can depend on....unfortunately there are not that many.
Pickford, Tarkoswki, Godfrey, Mina, Mykolenko, DCL an Gordon are players you can depend on to stand their ground , even if they are not playing well.
Iwobi and Doucoure are inconsistent but don't hide and seem to work hard even though it can be to minimal effect sometimes.

After those you are struggling to name players who display character and leadership in the team.

The young players were the ones who showed the attitude we would expect to see from players trying to impress their manager I am including Patterson in that.
Keane,Gray, Dele and Tom Davies last night did not for me show the desire needed to get the team o to the front foot in the game.

We seem to have a distinct lack of leadership in midfield and further forward.

I counted 7 players we can trust there. Erm think we might have problems this season.

We aren't, we're relying on Goodison crowd. Again.

Has he said " F THIS I'M OFF " yet ?? Saying that probably makes more sense for him to be the pantomime villain and get binned off in January with a few million in his arse pocket !!
