I take back my non backing of Lampard before he was front runner. What do I know. I think
he's a breath of fresh air and it might just be that moment in our history that we re awaken
the sleeping giant. I'm sure of it.

I'd give it a few months first before coming to that conclusion, our players have a habit of playing a tune for a new man and then going awol not long after.

That's not to say that WILL happen in this case and of course I have my fingers and toes crossed it won't but we Evertonians need to try and get over this feast and famine mentality. It's one of the reasons why we turn negative so quickly because we want the kind of elation we have now. If we can learn to flatten out the emotional rolla coaster a bit it will serve us well if we hit the buffers for a few games.

We should be happy to get the win and the manner of it, we should be hopeful of the future and enjoy going to the match where we try and impose our game on other teams instead of playing dead while we get our faces pummelled in, but also we have to be a little bit weary that the same players have let us down many times before. What we can say is that already our luck has changed regarding the cup draw, that would have been City/RS away for sure before this week so it's a good omen. Perhaps the football authority machinery is going to work to make a perfect story, how about Frank v Chelsea at Wembley for the semi/final etc.?

It's an interesting point this. From what I can remember from my lapsed Catholicism: despite what people would have you believe, most miracles were basically instantaneous, with the obvious but important exception of the resurrection. But by that point Christ was 33 and still doing it all for Christianity single-handedly, can't blame him if he'd lost a bit of pace.

'Can he still cut it at this level?' asked Barabas.

'He's lost a day or three on his miracles, but his experience and his miracling brain is second to none,' said the penitent thief.
Dismas.

Going to get another interesting insight into his approach this week.

Will he stick to the winning formula 3-4-3, or with the extra players available move to 4-3-3. Who does he drop and who does he bring in.

I suspect he will be relatively fluid in his approach, so I expect a formation change with Holgate (unlucky) dropping out for VDB in a midfield three.

Crucial for the managers and players confidence that we get the 3 points. The barcodes will be well up for it with their new players being rolled out in front of their horse punching fans.

I'll be quite frank, I didn't want Benitez from day one, I tried to keep an open mind and give him a chance at first, but, the football was horrific and it took me about 5 games to realise that my first instinct had been correct and that he was a disaster.

Up untill the Watford game I regarded his supporters as misguided blues who had a different viewpoint to me. After the Watford debacle, I began to think that his supporters were defending him because they had painted themselves into a corner and didn't know how to get out of it, or, that they were on a wind up, or, they were just totally clueless about football.
Like this, I was horrified when his name was even touted. However once appointed I was prepared to give him time.

However, that time ran out quickly with the dire performances, the complete lack of confidence and lack of passion on the pitch.

Lampard has started very well but we need to roll up our sleeves and start climbing the table.

It doesn't get much worse than a completely unproven manager with only a few years of managerial experience under his belt, now managing one of the biggest clubs in England.
Think you've got a point here lad. That time he had a go at Big Jurgy Klopp and chuntered about only having one Premier league medal was a bit cringe, mean spirited, bad tempered and showed naivety. You wouldn't catch a top tier manager, like Big Jurg, doing something like that when things arent going his way, would you?
