Fantastic start from him on Saturday and he must be over the moon with that.

Tomorrow is huge though, if he could get off to a winning start and get some momentum going then talk of being in a relegation fight will be long gone.

The most important thing tomorrow is to simply not get beat and not let Newcastle gain any ground on us.

Hopefully we'll have DCL available along with Dele and VDB giving us some great options.

Wasn't expecting such a decent result, especially with us not being able to field our latest signings and DCL / Doucoure out (El Ghazi cup tied as well, even stranger decision that).

I'm happy he has taken us away from ignoring possession - I'm not asking for Martinez-like obsession but Benitez total surrender of the ball was pathetic.

That he is a more like-able character is going to suit our current squad and the younger players imo.

I expect some fans will be quick to forget the dire 1 win in 14 and start grumbling when we lose some matches.

For me he can keep us up and have a punt at the cup and it will have been the right decision at the right time.

If he moves us up the table and increases the vibe / value of our players then he has paid for himself already.

Any reason I have for confidence is as much about the coaching team he has surrounded himself with - a sensible move.

Will be a tough game but I cant see us losing tbh. If they play 3 of their 4 new defenders thats a lot of new players all at once in an area where communication/understanding between players is key.

And I definitely feel our best form of defence will be to attack them. We just have to get the combination right between DCL, Richarlison, Gray, Gordon, VDB, Dele & Townsend.

There's enough quality in there to give any team a game.

The back line still feels very brittle for me and there's still not enough in the middle of the park to really protect the defence. I'd rather we just go and try and play to our strengths and steam roller them tomorrow night.

The vast majority of posters on here, have clearly stated, that they will back him even if we get relegated.

As long as he has a good go at sorting out the mess fat boy left behind and tries to get the team playing footy again, rather than just webbing the ball up to a statue up front, the fans will back him.

Why would you want him to stay if we get relegated? He will have failed badly, not like he has 3 or 4 games left to sort it

Especially so as they're big signings the holding midfielder too. So basically 4/5 new in their line up defensively, Howe never strick me as being able to coach or setup a decent defense too, so doing it instantly I'd be shocked at, we okay high press like v Brentford can see us forcing a lot of mistakes there.

They'll go into this super pumped cried wise with all there new signings, get an early goal or two and control possession it'll be interesting how fast thst evaporates.

The thing is it is you and others obsessed with Benitez. The rest of us acknowledge the situation for what it was - another manager who failed trying to steer a rudderless ship.

Frankel has started off well but we've been here MANY times before post Moyes - lets see how things are in 6-12 months time as this squad have form for throwing in the towel.
And you wonder why people don’t take you seriously on here!
