I didn't expect to like the man as much as I do. I knew I respected him for what he's achieved in the game, but he comes across as really nice, too.

He seems really humble, which is surprising for one of the best players of his generation.

As it goes alright for a cockney geezer, so far. Certainly has galvanized a mix and match squad of players beyond what I would have hoped for. 7 goals in two home games against 1 is not bad going.

what system did we play actually? I thought we started 3-5-2 but quickly went to a 4-4-2 in a diamond. Donny was central first half but DM the 2n half. Iwobi and Gordon changed sides a lot. Richy and dcl one moment side by side, the other they just moved a lot. I saw dcl even behind richy at some points. What do you reckon?

Working hard for movement. Really has been lacking over several managers its good to see!

Dare I mention slippy’s name in this thread. But they both command instant respect from any player no matter how good they are, due to their abilities as players. Ramsay at Villa, Gordon with us have both raised their games significantly working under arguably two of the best three midfielders of their generation (scholes being the other). England will ultimately benefit from this.

Good point. But benetiz had a pre- season to work with players (doesn’t take away a decent start mind you) but Lampard hasn’t been here 2 weeks.
