Early days obviously, but let’s hope this is the start of something we can get behind and enjoy. Watching Hassenhuttl last night on MOTD, how close was he to getting the axe last season, especially after those cricket score defeats? But the Southampton board kept their nerve and they now look a completely different team. We’ll do well to get something there next week.
Off topic for Lampard but watching the full time handshake at Old Trafford yesterday, Ralph H looked like he was commiserating with or consoling Ralf R, which is quite something considering who manages which club

Hoping we can transcend the high pressure strangulation performance in our upcoming away games as we have 4 very difficult games coming, several of which away.
If Van de Beek can keep up the level he showed yesterday then we've got a good chance

Gomes is hopeless when pressured but VdB has much more composure and importantly that bit of energy to get about

My son only remembers Ancelotti and Benitez as managers, so yesterday when he saw Lampard celebrating along the touchline he came out with:

"Daddy, why is Frank celebrating? He's our manager, not a fan." From the mouth of babes and all that as he'd never witnessed a manager show passion.

He also said that we should never have let Benitez be our manager. He's five.
Tell him to refer to him as 'Mr Lampard' next time please...

Seriously, that's boss that mate and also a little bit sad, I never understood the 'How cool is Carlo?? Just blowing on his drink when we score an important goal!'... swerve that, I want our managers to show as much passion as we do when we score, not look like they dont give a toss.

Your lad sounds like a smart cookie, get him in as an advisor to Moshiri please ;)

He must be a very good motivator and man manager, the players clearly bought in yesterday, even in Keane's interview after the game you can tell something has clicked. Talking about a freedom and intensity of play.

Cheers mate.

He even called Iwobi as his MOTM coming out, whereas I chose VDB, so going from the poll and what my friends said he read the game better than I did too.

Carlo was/is a top quality manager so while not want to be disparaging about him, I have a feeling that Lampard will 'get' Everton and vice versa.

It's early doors and it's important that we don't get carried away, but he talks well, shows passion and appears to know what Everton fans expect.

It's not rocket science although the likes of Benitez appeared to never ever get it.

He clearly did his homework before taking the job too and he’s been smart about trying to get the fans back onside and supportive of the players.
Probably the first manager since probably Martinez who is making an effort to engage with the history and culture of the club. Also what he's doing with the fans is something Klopp has done throughout his career to good effect.

Got a feeling there’s a bit of confidence boosting going on there. He’s made a few references to Iwobi needing belief and having all the ability.

If that is the case then I’m all for it.

Another stand out point from yesterday was this.

When was the last time Everton started a game positively? Didn't try to keep it 0-0 , didn't start playing when we concede the first goal? Just went out there and attacked and played like the home team?

Since lampard has come in we have scored the first goal in every game , if yesterday was any indication then it's something we will look to do every game.

It's only one game here but you can see the complete difference in this side compared to so many other managers before him. It makes you wonder, if lampard can bring in players who will do that consistently , who will keep high tempo week after week, battle on the pitch and act like the better team. How far could his side actually go?
