Doesn’t matter what he says, doesn’t matter what they train on in the week, come match day the same bunch of coward players will just down tools like they have done for the five managers before him.
He must see something in them to have taken the job, or the club in general, whatever it is I cant see it !!

They con manager after manager.

They’ve all hinted at it. Silva and Ancelotti called it out. What they see in training is not what happens on match day. A whole week of work and it’s just down the drain straight away on match day, players not running, not following set piece drills, making basic basic errors that they probably never make in training.

Can’t do anything with this lot, get them all out before they have Lampard under a bus as well.

I'm reading already here the rumblings of rebellion. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but 17 days into Lampard's tenure is a utterly bewildering.

WTF has possessed some of this club's fanbase?

Multi year rebuild project…or fire another manager and get the media attention that comes with that and a short term feel good bounce…

What do you think the easy thrill seekers will go for every time?

In all honesty there are people on here who would roll the dice again on another manager right now. They'd have Rooney in or even 'give it Dunc'.

Obviously not all think like that right now, but if/when City beat us there'll be posters trying to post polls on getting Lampard out. Guaranteed.

Team debriefing, Monday morning.

Benitez inherited a terrible squad, then bizarrely sold our two best players and lost the overwhelmingly majority of his league matches. We are dire and Frank can’t be expected to transform this team in a matter of two weeks.

One thing I will say is that the players are all giving 100%, which wasn’t the case under Benitez. As fans that’s as much as we can ask of them.

There was nothing thrilling about having Benitez here i can assure you. It was the worst 6 months of my life watching football. I hated every second of it.

Only those with an agenda wanted to persist with it. The rest of us knew it would never work.

There won’t, as virtually everyone expects us to get beaten.

C- must try harder.

we dont need attacking. We need results! and we sure dont need he EXACT SAME excuses as Benitez gave us just 4 weeks ago!!
As Benitez proved adequately, don't attack and you don't get results. After years of suffering we now have a manager whose aim is to try and outplay the opposition. Truth is, there are only two great teams in the PL. All the others are beatable, but only if you try and beat them. Under Lampard we'll continue to lose games we won't be happy about. But his belief in playing on the front foot will mean he's going to win the 3 points more often, certainly more often than the once in 15 Benitez did once he got past his opening results.
I'm far from certain we'll survive (certainly after today's away wins by Burnley and Watford) but going looking for all the points (OK, excepting against The RS and City) has to be the way out of the mess we're in, and definitely when up against fellow strugglers. Even more so as our defence is so bad.
