Can all the bootlickers of the previous manager [Poor language removed] somewhere else (preferably offline for good), instead of pontificating about how great their lying kopite Spanish hero was for us and how none of the absolute shambles we currently find ourselves in was his fault.

This is the Frank lampard thread - no place for tapastits here.

The best thing he did for us was be so spectacularly bad he only lasted 6 months.

I don't see it that way.

I saw a relatively rejuvenated squad starting the season in good spirits after what was an enjoyable offseason in Florida. Benitez already implemented his ideas during preseason, why wait until you're 10 games in?

Just like last season, we started pretty good. @Death even called the manager Rafael Unbeatez if memory serves. And just like last season, the players reverted back to type (not to mention the injury crisis), albeit a bit earlier & in a more emphatic way.

He just couldn't regroup & organize that defense. He failed & was rightly sacked.
Still strange how these players suddenly know how to play football when a new managers enters the room. The 3-0 against Leeds is a slap in the face of the fans: where did that effort/talent come from?

When analyzing long lasting car problems, you need to analyze the car & not blame the driver. Certainly not if it's the third driver in 2 years & if he's first name is Frank. Otherwise, you're three games away of hounding him out as well.
They have always knew how to play,
They are employed as footballers and as most jobs have a role in their workplace. The players role is to play as instructed by the manager, to take up certain positions on the pitch with/without possession when attacking defending during set pieces etc. If benitez wasnt a dinosaur or a self important ego maniac he would have known Playing silly passes around the back line and back to pickford when we have a defence low on confidence and prone to mistakes often gifting teams opportunities to score. This done nothing apart from putting the defence under lots of pressure and losing possession far too easy he never tried to rectify this as it happened far too much, still does but not near as much , we never pressed much in the opposition half trying to defend from the front like we have since lampard came in.if it's comparing cars then if the mechanic is useless the car fails the mot and is written off I'd he is decent he can spot the fault get the few minor faults fixed so it's up and running and passes the mot. Benitez couldn't see the wood for the trees he played to our weaknesses at times.if he was seen to be trying to change things not working then he might have bagged a few more points or a bit of time in a job.lampard has us in with a chance sees the faults tries to sort them starting with the basics,

New paragraphs, commas, full stops and capital letters don't actually cost you money, yanno, mate. Brain frazzled regards to you.

This is because of the manager. Remember, these players are professionals and play in the way the manager has asked them to play. Benitez told them not to attack, but to sit back and try and wait for a counter opportunity and in fact he booted Digne out the door for daring to question this strategy when it stopped working so should we blame the players for following the managers instructions?

These players could always play. How many times did we get frustrated when we were losing and suddenly started playing football for the last ten minutes trying to rescue a point and looked really good? I kept thinking, ‘why didn’t we start the match playing that way?’, and the only explanation is that the players were told not to.

Under Lampard, we’ve given our players the instruction to be on the front foot and take the game to the opposition. Our players aren’t the best and haven’t played this way for a while but they’re still better than most in the league and we’ll get plenty more points playing this way in my opinion. Every now and then we’ll blow teams away like Brentford and Leeds but sometimes (like when we had Gomes in a two against Southampton second half) we’ll get overrun for being too open.

Just some of our players are not good enough anymore for this, they need to be left out of the team selection.

I was surprised to see he chose the same team from the game prior even after he tried that method for the Brentford to Newcastle game and it backfired. Don't give these dossers any leeway, chose the best team to get a result they don't deserve loyalty.

Is it possible to start an Everton failed manager thread? So all the Benitez acolytes and any hangers on of any other past disastrous managerial reigns can drone on about their unacknowledged merits and how they were thwarted by player induced treachery. This is getting tedious , the thread should be designated for Frank discussion not blather about abrasive hasbeens and other non suitable managers

Lets say we’re both taxi drivers. I drive my taxi cab into a rock wall over and over again, for months. Then i remove one of the most valuable parts moving the car forwards and sell it to my old mate slippy G. This all gets me fired, and you are then hired as my replacement. You get my job AND my POS car. This car was fully functional when i got it, but i ruined it over months of abuse. You start working on it, and get it to run normally about 50% of the time.
Are you to blame for the terrible shape the car is in, or am I?
I have one question. Did you pay back the money to slippy G, or is he coming after you?

Yes.

Yer I'm made up he was so bad he's left us in the biggest relegation scrap we've had in a long time.

I'd rather he kept us up mid table and got binned at the end of the season myself

But that wouldn’t have happened so a pretty unrealistic viewpoint.

I think he would have, he go more time than any of the previous managers.

As this was a moshiri pick he seemed so reluctant to sack him as it would meant HE would have picked the wrong man again.

If we won a few more games I reckon he'd still be here now

Yes… but you never said that? You said you’d rather he got us midtable then sacked in the Summer. Why would he ever have gotten sacked if that happened.
