Of course his priority is himself and his staff, but, unlike his predecessor, he has no established reputation to fall back on. The only way Frank helps himself and his staff is by helping us, he is trying to make a name for himself as a manager and where better to do that than here. We are truly a basket case of a club at the moment, due mainly to our Iranian overlord and his strange decisions, of which appointing the fat Spaniard was by far the strangest, but, there is great potential here, we have a long history as a top club and, if we can get a bit of momentum going, we can improve very quickly.
Our squad is not great, but, it is far better than it appeared to be under Benitez, he sucked all the confidence out of them and actually told them that they weren't good enough to play possession based football, preferring instead to concede possession and territory and hope our disjointed defence could hold firm and that we might get something on the break. I think that Lampard is a very intelligent young man and that he has seen the potential here, if he turns this around he will be a manager who is in great demand.
So
@davek, he's not an Evertonian, but, he has just as much reason as we do to fight for a successful Everton team any way that he can.
