2021/22 Frank Lampard

Under benitez he atleast had the excuse of a decimated squad due to injuries.

For lampard if he doesn’t have that excuse if he doesn’t keep us up. For me lampard is/was a choice of appointment that made relegation a greater possibility, mainly because he has shown in the short 3 years of management that he lacks the ability to set up a defence, and that was with world class defenders at Chelsea.

It was silly of us to hire him now, when a relegation fight relies on a tight defence and 10 men behind the ball to pick up a vital point here and there. A manager that can’t set up a defence + the defenders we have = an utter disaster. Benitez was renowned for being able to set up a defence and he couldn’t work with our defenders, what chance does lampard have?

we still have a chance at staying up, but that’s just because the 3 teams below or around us are utter crap as well.

Yeah mate because that 10 week lay off Mina has had, 5 week layoff Godfrey has had, 3 week lay off Gray has had, Doucoure missing the start of his tenure, DCL nowhere near match fit, Mykolenko in and out with slight knocks don't count for Lampard and only count for Benitez.

I like Frank.. but he’s not doing himself any favours with these team selections.
To be fair he is screwed whatever he does, the backline players and holding midfield options simply aren't good enough for this level. I'm just glad not to see Gomes or Allan in the middle of the park.

Sorry. If he can't keep us up he should not have been appointed. That was the bare minimum requirement of the job. People may not like to hear it, but we'd have been as well off leaving Benitez in place if we were going to replace him with a man who would subsequently take us down.
You're talking shabite mate, look at how we've played at home under Lampard. Apart from about 20 minutes v Burnley in September and that second half v Arsenal we were awful under Benitez. Nothing that wasn't already broken is Lampard's doing.

Anyway, you obviously know everything. So tell me, what happens when we sack Lampard after relgation? Who is the man who gets us up first time of asking despite the stadium costs and wage bill?

And no it isn't Dunc or Unsy, or Jeffers, Ebbrell or any other misty-eyed figure of days past. But I'm all ears pal.
