2021/22 Frank Lampard

Am I supposed to be impressed with 19 points from 19 games?

I'm not even saying 3 points from 7 is acceptable because it bloody isn't at all.

But your posting like 19 points from 19 games is OK.

Just to make it clear for you - BENITEZ IS POISON AND WAS A DISGRACE OF AN APPOINTMENT.

Things have got miles better because the horrible, malicious poisonous rat has been removed from the club.
If he'd have been sacked a month before then we'd be in a much better place.

And that's while acknowledging that the last two games have been utterly atrocious and that Lampard takes his fair share of the stick for that too.

Under Benitez Everton had 19 points from 19 games. A point a game. Not too half form but comfortably clear of relegation in a league including Norwich, Watford and this season’s versions of Burnley and Leeds. Under Lampard the club has 3 points from 6, or 0.17 points a game.

Of course there’s been a long history of bad signings and incompetence at boardroom level, but absolving Lampard of blame is crazy. The teams at the bottom are soooOh bad this year that I find it impossible to believe that even a well past his best Benitez would have been anywhere near where you are at this stage. Heck, even Big Dunc would have done a better job.

Games in hand don’t mean a thing when the team has a porous defence and doesn’t know what it’s trying to do in attack. It will concede at some point and most likely won’t score. So you’re realistically going into every match with a goalless draw as the most realistic hoped for result.

Newcastle will beat you; then what? The way things are going it’s even looking possible that Everton will get overtaken by Watford and Norwich and finish plumb last.

Who do you support exactly? You keep saying "Newcastle will beat you" and "Everton had 19 points" instead of "we".

Why should 19 points from 19 games be acceptable?

In the worst case scenario, is Lampard the man to get us back up from the championship?

He did take Derby to the playoff final though, so at least he has experience of managing in that division.

As soon as the rs stuffed us, the poisonous rat should have been volleyed from this club.

He should never have been given the job. Absolutely disgusting appointment

Even in his post match press conference, he admitted he was searching for a solution. As for knowing how he wants to play. How can that be true if he keeps on changing formation and personnel. His job is to make the best of what he has at his disposal.

Benitez was a terrible appointment but he managed 19 points from 19 games. Lampard has 3 points from 6 games. Benitez with essentially the same squad was averaging 1 point per game. Lampard is on 0.5 points per game. One keeps you up, the other gets you relegated.
The damage was caused by the kopite and the people who appointed him.

Yes I'd back him to to rip it up and start again.

Should be given the chance imo. We'd probably be stuck with giving it to a young and upcoming manager anyway in that position. If he could get Derby to the playoffs then his brand of football must work OK in the championship.

Relegation is a reality we all have to man up, face and accept. And if it does happen I'd hate to see Frank sacked for it as its hard to blame him too much for this crap show

We need a serious rebuilding job, hopefully we do it while still a premier league club though! If the worst does come to the worst, then at least Lampard knows what the championship is all about.

I agree with Lampard saying what he said too after the game, about the other style of approach (which I think he tried to replicate a bit today in the low block when defending) having only resulted in 1 win in 14 too.

And he's bang on about it.

We're really crap.

Lampard's mistakes today were his subs.

Kenny should have been taken off, not Mykolenko.
Townsend was a pointless sub. He's so average and offers very, very little.
Why not use the third sub?

I was saying at the time, get Allan on instead of Kenny and go 433. Push Doucoure on, have Allan receiving the ball off the defence.

Sometimes you have to make a 'defensive' sub to actually be more offensive. It's not rocket science.
