2021/22 Frank Lampard

Rafael done a poor job for us, having said that with the approach he took, i'm pretty sure he'd have taken more than 3 out of 15 points over the fixtures Lampard has took charge of.

3 out of 15, i mean come on, where was our manager bounce, I like Frank and want him to stay but he needs to wise up and quickly otherwise he will take us into the football abyss.

He needs to stop having the same approach away as he does at home for starters, make us hard to beat away and set us up for at least some draws.

What makes you “pretty sure” Benitez would have taken more than 3 points from the last 15?

The last 8 league games of his wretched tenure produced 4 points.

And absolutely nothing suggests anything would have changed if he had been in situ for those first five games of Frank’s reign.

Changing to a more attacking and open style, and asking players who had been told for 2 years to get rid of the ball as soon as they got it to start taking responsibility and look for passes was always a hugely risky strategy at this stage of the season. Unfortunately we didn't really have a choice, because the appointment of that odious fat monster had been even more of a disaster then I expected it to be (and believe me, I expected it to be BAD). His 'approach' such as it was, was to give the ball to the opposition straight from the kick off and let them have it back as many times as they needed before they scored, it was painful to watch and i'd rather go down swinging than in that cowardly fashion.

I've believed we were going down for months now, but we just have to hope that we can get 4 good performances between now and the end of the season, and when you look at it like that all hope isn't lost. A win tomorrow and suddenly i'd be thinking surely we can pick up another 7-9 points and that might be enough.

The team lacks leaders and has no confidence, but even with that a new manager should have them looking like they are fighting more. We’ve seen fight in some of the games but in far too many it’s been missing and that shouldn’t be possible in the position they find themselves when a new man is at the helm.

I’m far from convinced Frank is the answer, either for now or for the long term. But most critically for what we need now, obviously.

Nothing we can do about it now other than support and hope. I think Dave’s right though. We don’t need much to escape from here, and I think we’ll just about have enough.

He needs time. You can't just drill this lot overnight. He might have the best ideas in the world but we don't have time to implement them with the position we're in. If he'd been appointed at the start of the season I doubt we'd be in this mess.

Presser today?
If it is, I hope he knocks on the head any more comments about only just arriving here and the situation was dire then. We all know that. His repeating of it though just creates ill-feeling. I think @GrandOldTeam 's point was correct. He accepted the job 2 months ago so we have a right to expect him to own this situation, otherwise why did he take it?

No one will blame him if we go down. He needs to know that implicitly - stow it away and not be that explicit about it to the extent that it divides us at this precarious moment in the club's history.

What donkeys? Are you saying the players are donkeys? No wonder Rafael also didnt get a tune out of them them.

Uncomfortable truth this. People can’t say they weren’t told about these players though for years. Lampard’s tenure so far just proves this, but of course the same lot who blamed Benitez for everything wrong at Everton will just blame Lampard and the next manager and the next manager.

Don't disagree about the players but I also don't think Frank could setup a Subbuteo team tbh, his constant changing of tactics is pub league stuff.

Uncomfortable truth is right, and truth hurts when it comes to Everton, without even sticking up for Rafael i correctly constantly pointed out the players were rubbish and were the problem but some wouldnt have it, i also correctly and constantly pointed out we wouldnt be able to attract a top manager, now dont get me wrong i dont have a problem with Frank, even though we are doing worse, but its because i understand the problems are much deeper then the mamager

Has my full support going forward until he's got his own team together and rid of some of these god awful players. He can't be blamed for what is going on, Benítez killed us off, confidence absolutely shattered through the squad and defenders who can't defend, that's the problem, the defenders aren't fit for purpose in this league, shocking recruitment.

I actually agree with this, mainly because the team would of had full fan support from the off
