2021/22 Frank Lampard

Really enjoyed the official first training session video.

Might just be the editing or sheer coincidence, but it's nice to hear the manager and coaches being vocal, where the shouts seem to imply there's a distinct plan and reason behind the training exercises done in the session.

Both under Rafael and later under Ancelotti, the videos sometimes made it seem like both the coaches and the players were just coasting through the sessions, and the specific things they did practice didn't translate to matchday.

Here's hoping everyone, from players to personnel at EFC's arsed about football again.

yeah not really judging, just a feeling because Benitez has left, he might get less opportunity from Frank. If a manager buys a player, usually they're going to play them, but this isn't Frank's buy.
He is who Lampard has available. He is not exactly a Benitez player either, hardly played for him.

Rondon on the other hand…

I think when you look at the managers he has worked under - surely he can cherry pick the best aspects from some of these;

Keegan
Capello
Eriksson
Hodgson
Viera
Pellegrini
Redknapp
Ranieri
Mourinho
Scolari
Hiddink
Wilkins
Ancelotti
Villas Boas
Er, Benitez
Puts into perspective just what a meatgrinder Chesea's managerial chair is, doesn't it? Obviously, being an international for England exposed him to a lot more managers than the average bear, but wow.

Clean slate for him.

Unfortunately.

Thing is, can he get any worse than he has been for us? Knowing us probably but hear me out.

Surely the only way is up for him - he either does better or Fronk will bomb him. Same with the rest of the gobshites.

They all get a clean slate, which is a positive for me - they can reset and do better or remain feckless loosers and be binned.

I hope they all will listen to and learn from our new manager, who hasn't long finished playing, and won everything in the game, and seems to want a more progressive style of football than was served up under the previous tactical dinosaur.

It's Shape up or ship out now - and from seeing lampard as a player and young manager, I trust him to get them all at it, much more then our previous managers.

I'd be absolutely delighted. Appreciate he hasn't managed to set the world on fire at Norwich this season, but everything I've seen of him for Scotland and Chelsea says to me that he's a midfielder in the Barcelona mould. Low centre of gravity, great first touch, wants to take the ball from the defence and progress it into the forward players.

Sounds OTT, I know, but I'm genuinely convinced he's a huge star of the future. Vividly remember watching him play for the first time against Liverpool, not having a clue who he was, then spending the next hour responding to various WhatsApp messages from mates who were all laying eyes on him for the first time and all having the same reaction as me.
Farke just didn't seem to fancy him at Norwich and the nobhead fans really early on turned on him - think they expected him to carry the team straight off the bat.

Lads a fantastic talent and looks like with 12 months left this summer and Gallagher looking like he'll be in the mix to play for Chelsea next season that he may be one they look to move on.

Enjoy the ball is quite the antithesis to Benitez's philosophy of avoiding contact with the ball as much as possible . Seems promising
This is the thing for me. One of the reasons I’m so happy with an appointment like lampard, is
he will try and have us playing on the front foot.

We might get hit for 3-4 goals a few times a season. But we’re shipping goals playing defensive anti-football.

At least if we’re gonna be middling to poor, we can do it with a bit of excitement.

I just want to enjoy watching Everton again. A trophy or Europe would be boss, don’t get me wrong. But in the short term, I just want to feel the excitement of football again.
