I'm hoping we bring in as much Chelsea influence as possible, to be honest. Sadly our culture has been a long way off the elite clubs for decades, so the more people we can get in that really know how a top club operates, the better.

You have to remember he was the best left back in the world at the time, and they were offering him way less than some of the foreign players. He then went to Chelsea where he was paid what he was worth and won the lot.

Don’t know much about our new manager and I’ve been too busy this week getting ready for my own job interview (one that I hope I smashed today) to read about Lampard, or how everyone else is feeling about him. But I welcome his appointment. Benitez was the wrong man for the job from the very beginning, and at the end his tactics didn’t work for our players either. The atmosphere was also too toxic among the fan base, so hopefully most Evertonians are feeling much better with Lampard’s appointment.
