Hodgson also laid the foundations for his successor to invest where they wanted with no restrictions and build on a solid platform - the difference when you inherit a shambles and when you inherit something solid is stark

At the beginning of this season, that team who beat us today, were favourites for relegation, and their manager favourite to be first for the sack.
They are now in the top half of the league, and in the space of five days he has coached a bunch of average players to a draw against the league champions and put the Grand Old Team out of the FA Cup.
Its called managing your resource and motivation.

Hi mate, their manager had a full preseason to implement his style, he also brought in his players. So he already had an advantage over Lampard

I think Frank is kind of sucking so far to be honest. He is one of those managers that sweet talks you with the potential of pressing/attacking footy, but that don’t matter one bit if he can’t play any other way. More often than not, with this squad, counter-attacking footy is almost a necessity.

If he doesn’t learn that, ummmm….

I never said that, they went 5 games without a win after beating Spurs on the opening day, beat City and Wolves then went on another 4 game winless run, drawing with Burnley and losing to Villa, Leeds and United

It wasn't so much that, he just saw the level of the players and decided the best course was to keep it simple. The only thing I would say is that I don't think bringing the likes of Allan or James was ever going to improve on that squad much though (both had seen better days)

Racing around like lunatics until we run out of steam appears to be Lampard's version of when Martinez would put Lukaku on the right.

There's no shape at all. Every time we concede, there are Everton players standing around in twos or threes.

You'd have hoped by now we'd have started to get a shape under Lampard but it seems to be getting worse.

We all know how weak the defence is and I'm sure Lampard does too but it hasn't been addressed. Given how bad we are at it, the entire team should be getting drilled every day. The terrifying thing is our attacking play is so poor I can rarely see us scoring more than 1 goal.
