2021/22 Frank Lampard

It's not even anything to do with that for me. We saw Ferguson manage only 1 game so certainly not enough to make a sweeping statement like that.
We saw his less than great first period in charge too.

It was huff and puff stuff and tailed off badly.

He's had about 5 games in charge and apart from the Chelsea game they were pretty hopeless.

He's never getting the Everton job. Never. Not even if we fell into League One.

I'm disappointed with the fact that there's fans turning on him already, only 10 games in. Very reactionary that, even for us.

We may well go down, but for me that won't all be on Lampard. This has arguably been coming for years.

We need to just give the guy a proper go.

I think it’s largely because of the mess we are in, he will just be a casualty… none of it is his fault at the moment.

You have to wonder a bit about his tactics versus the players he’s trying to fit into them, they just aren’t able to do what he wants. So he’s probably a bit naive tactically, but he’s early into his management career, whether he will be successful is another story.

My personal opinion on it, is he won’t be, not at Everton, or anywhere. I’m not castigating him, you can almost admire his ambition to try tackle the deep rooted issues at Everton, but that is more than just the players.

Yes the villa game and the tactics were embarrassing. He also had Godfrey, Mina Holgate, Keane, Coleman, kenny. Doucoure, Allan, Gomes, Townsend, gray, Gordon, DCL and Richarlison all available.

It was basically boot in long and see what you can do

We’ve had bad injuries this year and everybody knows that, but Rafael had a spell when the squad was available, bar maybe a couple. But even though we were getting beat, he hardly changed anything, especially tactics and formation. Remember the constant inclusion of Rondon when he looked miles off.

Lampard we know wants to play on the front foot, we’re getting caught out away and I’m sure he will be more defensive for the rest of this season, but he’s had horrendous luck. Nearly an injury every game. 2 in the first half off his first league game. Players coming back then back out with a niggle, players with Illness issues and covid. Dealing with a young new left back while a war is going on in his homeland.

Personally I think he will be a successful manager, maybe not with us. But already he’s had a lot to deal with in his managerial career.

I cant see him sticking it out if we go down, just have a gut feeling. Probably wrong and really hope I am but the Club is in dire mess and not sure it would do him him any favours to stick around!

Sorry state of affairs

Sigh

I see. Too early to judge Lampard after 10 games, but Ferguson was obviously a failure after 5.

Not a judgement on Lampard btw, I like him, but he needs time. Proper time. Not 2 months of chaos.

Same would apply to Ferguson.

Our fans go so over the top with every opinion, it's insane.

He need to be given the length of his contract, and more, alongside Thelwell to put some long term structure in place.

The club was already a mess that literally get set on fire by an odious kopite.

The damage has been done, the man had us on one of the worst runs in modern day history.

No manager is waving a magical wand and undoing that mess

I just thing Ferguson comes across like how
Unsworth would if he got the job. V villa he dropped Gordon for Townsend. Left Allan out for Gomes and went 442. Nothing wrong with 442 With the right personal, but it’s like he phoned Rafael up to ask him what he should do. Like he hadn’t learnt anything from watching these players all season.

Why do you think he will be successful ? He appears to be another Ole character.

His Derby side finished a point behind Rowett's from the previous year, this despite having CL level players on loan in Mount and Tomori. He also had the worst record as a Chelsea manager in the Roman era.

He's a dinosaur manager in a digital age.
