Why do you think he will be successful ? He appears to be another Ole character.

His Derby side finished a point behind Rowett's from the previous year, this despite having CL level players on loan in Mount and Tomori. He also had the worst record as a Chelsea manager in the Roman era.
So you expect 2 inexperienced kids 19/20 to change the face of a championship side overnight. That season the top 6 Norwich, shef Utd Leeds, West Brom, villa, derby. It was his first job. He got to a play off final unlike Rowett.

Chelsea he comes in they lose Hazard who contributed to 55% of their goals the seaon before couldn’t sign anyone, payed loads of kids and finished 4th got to a cup final. And 6 points behind the year before.

Inexperienced cost him the following year when Chelsea’s big signings weer struggling, did he sign them? When he was sacked in the January he was mid table but only 10 points behind the leaders.

I did see a table of Chelsea managers under Abromovic and he was down the list but, I’m sure he wasn’t the worst. AVB? Scolari?

It’s easy to say he want be successful after a year at Derby and a year and a half at Chelsea. And Ole had 3 years at Utd and loads of money. Ridiculous to compare the two

I'm disappointed with the fact that there's fans turning on him already, only 10 games in. Very reactionary that, even for us.

We may well go down, but for me that won't all be on Lampard. This has arguably been coming for years.

We need to just give the guy a proper go.

Spot on.

Whatever happens, and unless he walks, we need him to see out his contract and possibly beyond.

He has inherited a mess, and it will be impossible to fix in the short term.

If he keeps us up, that will be progress.

Can't say whether he is the right man or not, but I like his honesty, particularly in the aftermath of last Sundays game.

The club has been hiding behind issues for years, and they have built up and become progressively worse, to the sad state of affairs we see now.

We are past the point of risk with such honesty at the club now - everyone on the staff has to be held up and be individually accountable.

Acknowledge the issues, and that's the first step to resolving them.

The big question is will he be as open with Moshiri in private?

Some of the posters who want him gone, never said a peep about the disaster that was Benitez, yet here they are calling Frank out.

Make of that what you will.

personally I think he has come in and seen players performing poorly in a poor set up and system. He has tried to change the mentality of the players and change the system as well (a few times) without much success. His latest effort has been to berate the mentality of the players. He hadnt tried that yet so lets see if that works. Eventually he and all our other managers either run out of changes or pick a system and stick with it (as many suggest on here) at which point we lose a lot, they get sacked for being inflexible. The reality is, we are not very good, most EPL teams have improved and we have not.
I dont think its Lampards fault or caused by anything he is doing/not doing.

If he keeps us up I think he'll be the ideal manager for us.

Coming through this baptism of fire will hand him enormous credibility. We just need those extra 10 points or so that sees us safely home.

It’s an absolute critical juncture for the club. The players either perform for Lampard now and we stay up, or we’re down.

If is the former, I think Lampard has the number on most of them now and a good few will be out.

If it’s the latter then Lampard needs to be allowed to rebuild the club.

Either way this era of the last five years of these players taking the proverbial out of the club like some sort of clown show has to end. The fans, manager, and seemingly even the owners now, are fed up with it. These players are the laughing stock of the league and now it seems they’ve clowned around so much they’ve backed themselves into a corner that there’s no escape from for them. The fat lady is clearing her throat to call time on most of their Everton careers.

Are they though? Or is it just a media driven narrative after a pish poor FA Cup result?

There's the odd few biff's but that's never new

If we stay up he's going to be in a very strong position. If we go down I cant see the club retaining his services...and I doubt Lampard would want the task of bringing us up.

We'd be in Chris Wilder territory.

Either way, this group of players are going to be thinned down to a fraction of what they are now.

Einstein defined insanity as doing the same failed thing over and over. Sacking another manager??? Ffs

Really needs to play 4-3-3 and stick with it.
And I don’t care if it means playing Holgate or Pickford in midfield, we need a consistent system.

Made me chuckle this, had to read the last sentence a couple of times. Was thinking Chelsea haven't been around that long have they.
