I'm disappointed with the fact that there's fans turning on him already, only 10 games in. Very reactionary that, even for us.

We may well go down, but for me that won't all be on Lampard. This has arguably been coming for years.

We need to just give the guy a proper go.

Very. Though i dont think there are many.
The enormity of this job is staggering. Its a complete clear out job.

Keeper. Meh. Very divided opinion. But its a big call this one. I think Everton need to look elsewhere.

Fullbacks. Offer virtualy nothing now.

Centre backs. Just dreadful. Two of them have been relegated from the premier league before. The other is possibly already championship level.

Midfield. See fullbacks. Offer little. Dont even know what Gomes does. No width. No guile. No goals.

Forwards. Ones not a central striker but has to play. As the central focus one isnt available. The back up options are quite frankly laughable.

This job is as tough as it gets even for an experienced manager let alone one who isn't.

If we are going to build some foundations with lampard then it might well be steps back before steps forward. And im talking about players coming through. That takes years.
Have people got the patience? I doubt it.

I do think once we reach a safeish position he needs to start integrating the likes of Dobbins and Patterson so we can maybe find some depth for next season. We have next to nothing to play for apart from safety here. Reach that goal then prepare for next season. Otherwise it’s really hard to judge him fairly unless we lose out or go on a spectacularly bad losing streak.

This is what I am hoping,"if" we are fortunate enough to be safe with two/three games to go,Dobbin/Patterson/Onyango/Branthwaite/Price can be integrated and become more valuable to the team/squad going into next season.

Start Patterson fatty
Thing is, if he persists with this 343 523 formation, there’s so much emphasis on the wingbacks carrying attacking threat. Kenny or Godfrey on the left and Coleman on the right aren’t giving us that threat, it nullifies the system. Why we look so incapable of creating a chance. Patterson looks easily the best attacking wingback we have, he has to play. Otherwise it’s five defenders, the wings not utilised, no creativity from centre mid and no service for the strikers.

As you say, over to you fatty

Absolutely ridiculous

What? That in a 523/343 the wingbacks are key for attacking width chance creation? Or that Kenny/Godfrey/Coleman aren’t providing enough attacking threat in that formation? Or that Patterson is the most attacking option at wingback we have?

Calling Lampard ‘fatty’ because he won’t play a player that he doesn’t see as ready in a relegation battle.

I know we want to keep faith in a manager due to the squad being crap but surly if we are going to let a manager rebuild then it's needs to be the right one. I do like lampard but I'm very concerned he not the right guy. Some of his decisions on the pitch have been poor.

If we go down, do we really have faith in lampard to rebuild us. I would rather go for someone who done it and Dean Smith is the man who rebuilt villa with a decent young team. Lampard needs to show us he got the tactical knowledge before the season over.

I agree. We do have to give him a few seasons. I agree to that on any manager we bring in.

On the other hand we have giving an unproven young fella the job of firstly steering this apathetic over paid crap team away from relegation... some job to be laying on an unknown. I think we have enough to scrape it. Even if he has zero experience in it.

It's the couple of years we are trusting him to oversee a complete overhaul that has me worried. Like a massive change of personal and replace it with his own side and get us challenging. A 3 year project in my eyes if not more of getting a lot of decisions right. I agree we need to give him time since we hired him. But some job for an inexperienced unproven lad.
