A terrible team with the wrong manager, a deadly combination! As a man, he looks like he's falling apart at the seams, and that was before he even managed us for one match. I honestly think he's winging it as a manager, and hoping his coaching team mates will drag him through.

I’ve been thinking this too, I bet he thought that some team bonding sessions to improve morale would sort things out, nobody would have dared mention how messy everything really was.

It's as simple as that mate.

But to my mind the effort is there. It's not about getting Goodison up for it either: they will be.

WTF would be the point of appointing him again?

A win settles this right down: when we beat Leeds it felt that way; then when we beat Newcastle it felt that way.

If we beat those pie munching troglodytes up there on Wednesday the panic will be over again....for a bit.

I think this will be our pattern...and I think it'll be touch and go to the 38th game.
Agree with all there mate.

I'd expect him not to name keane as captain of this bunch of marshmallows. Honestly. What's going on.
What do you know ? I mean really what do you know about what the dynamics us amongst the players ?
I’m not talking about what you think you know …. What do you know ?
he is experienced at international and club level and on paper he may well have been worth a punt … he would not be the first player to up his performance with the armband
The problems at our club go deeper much deeper than frank lampards choice of captain from a depleted squad with very few other realistic choices

I have seen enough to believe that given time he can do well. I could see him being able to work well with a group of young players in the championship. Today certainly was not on the manager. We played well. Chances were created and missed and ultimately an individual error meant we went home empty handed. The timing of that Iwobi error was very cruel. We had them in the ropes a bit and was starting to feel like it was our moment. The injuries and suspensions at this stage are a massive concern. Feels like it is conspiring against us a bit. I am not sure if I can bare to watch the game Wednesday to be honest. People seem to be suggesting a draw would be a good result. It has to be a win for me. I can’t go through this for the rest of the season

Well he was crap at stoke. And maybe that’s the reason no other bigger teams will take a chance on him
Who says they won't? A young manager who carves his way through the leagues has one bad job and then goes on to further success. Speaks more to his quality that he is doing better in the league he was sacked in at Stoke than Stoke are since he left.

It is entirely possible in football for a good coach to be the right man at the wrong time at a club.

Really don’t think Lampard will be sacked before the end of the season as I just don’t think there will be a clamour for it, Moshiri usually only sacks the manager when he sees the fans are making some noise.

Also not sure he would go even if we ended up going down unless he resigned or there was a clause in his contract as we’re struggling already financially. Also, the list of potential managers wasn’t great last time, imagine what it will be like if we were looking for someone to manage us in the Championship, we’d probably waste half the summer too with another circus of a search which would be the last thing we need in that situation.

Hopefully won’t need to be a point for discussion soon anyway. ?

A win imo would mean Burnley would need to win 4 out of their last 9. So a win is massive, but a draw is not the worst result, I’d take a draw now, we can’t afford to lose
