i know all the top job offers hey
Turned down the chance to manage Celtic and took Scotland to a major tournament for the first time in decades. Quite an achievement. Coached under Bobby Robson, Dalglish, Mourinho, etc, so clearly knows about the game.

Pretty much won every honour in the game as a coach.

How so? They were in the Champo when he went in and they were still in the Champo when he left. The managers before him were poor and, after an initial uplift, the current manager is struggling too, despite doing well with Northern Ireland. That suggests there are deeper rooted problems at the club.
You got a point. Gary Rowett was struggling there as well and he's making great job at Millwall and did decent at every club he's been at bar Stoke.

Oh well, he must be crap. Despite having Luton near the top of the Championhip after taking them from the bottom league....
What is your obsession with bang average managers? Jones is to Luton what Howe was to Bournemouth, Dyche is to Burnley etc, big fish small pond, little danger of the sack, stick them at a step up and they falter

Jones never had anywhere near the resources Howe had at Bournemouth. By the way, Howe and Dyche are both very good managers. We would be raving about Howe had he came here and done the job he is doing at Newcastle.

The way people belittle top coaches like Dyche, Howe and Clarke makes me laugh, it really does. As if we are too good for people like this.

"We deserved a point at least on an afternoon when a lot of things went against us. We showed character, discipline and created chances which isn't easy against West Ham. If we carry on in that vein, things will go in our favour and we'll be OK."

Discipline - 3rd red card on the bounce.
Hate that last sentence, "keep on doing what you're doing."

We've just lost.

Who says they won't? A young manager who carves his way through the leagues has one bad job and then goes on to further success. Speaks more to his quality that he is doing better in the league he was sacked in at Stoke than Stoke are since he left.

It is entirely possible in football for a good coach to be the right man at the wrong time at a club.
He’s had chance to build something at a club, unlike Frank. look at Derbys problems, though he probably stays if the Chelsea job didn’t come up.

He went to Chelsea lost 55% of the teams goals from the season before in hazard. Had no transfers and played a load of young players and was 6 points worse off, they then spent over 200mil and a few have been disasters, did Frank pick them?
Werner, Ziyech, havertz all stunk the gaff out, yes Tuchel did a good job when he replaced them, but he’s not doing great this season and he has Lukaku.

There’s a slight chance if this form continues they miss out on top 4

No matter if he’s right or wrong and let’s be honest, he isn’t wrong, but you can’t be publicly questioning the players character, you just don’t do that. Results since he’s been here haven’t been anywhere near good enough, and he can’t even hide behind Benitez’ excuse of a chronic injury list either. Managers live and die by results, and his have been shocking.

The job Tuchel has done since coming in shows just how badly Lampard was underperforming there. The transfer embargo served him well as it gave him an excuse. Both the much-criticised Sarri and Tuchel have done miles better.

Howe right back in the relegation mire along with us after today's capitulation. Newcastle arent safe yet. :)

Dyche has been at Burnley a decade, never been in danger of the sack despite a couple of relegations and relegation battles, never gets linked to the big jobs when they come up because he’d be out his depth

Howe bombed at Burnley the first time he left Bournemouth, he’s also overseen the most embarrassing result in Newcastle’s history despite having a mini revival after it

Clarke - sacked by West Brom after dropping from 8th to 16th in 7 months, sacked by Reading after a year, a month after nearly walking out on them for Fulham, walked out on Kilmarnock after getting them Europe

I have seen enough to believe that given time he can do well. I could see him being able to work well with a group of young players in the championship. Today certainly was not on the manager. We played well. Chances were created and missed and ultimately an individual error meant we went home empty handed. The timing of that Iwobi error was very cruel. We had them in the ropes a bit and was starting to feel like it was our moment. The injuries and suspensions at this stage are a massive concern. Feels like it is conspiring against us a bit. I am not sure if I can bare to watch the game Wednesday to be honest. People seem to be suggesting a draw would be a good result. It has to be a win for me. I can’t go through this for the rest of the season
Well that’s fair I suppose. But if we get relegated, he will have had literally no positive impact on the team, I can’t see why a club would keep him on.
if it’s desperate with 6 games to go (more desperate than now anyway) surely Moshiri will pull the plug and chance a new manger bounce? Not my way, but if it gets to that point, what have you got to lose I guess?
