I don't read much into press comments or social media. No manager is going to say they didn't want a new signing.
I'm not saying Lampard didn't want him, but I think his involvement in the transfer is an unknown.

To say Myolenko, Branthwaite and Patterson are inferior options compared to Kenny, Keane and Coleman...
...is very peculiar indeed.
You can't legislate for injuries in warm ups or after international breaks (Beekhead and Patterson) or absolutley shocking ref and var calls going against you and getting jey players suspended and in that regard Frank's been as unlucky as they come. Hopefully that luck will turn on Wednesday night and going forward for the rest of the season, for him and us. Christ were due some better fortune.
What you can criticise him for is some of the tactical decisions and personnel changes he's made. I just don't understand selecting Keane as Captain - is he really the type of character you would follow into battle and who leads by example, to get us out the mess were in?! It's just insane.
Only changing one sub baffled me as well - we might as well have gave price and Dobbin some minutes at wham than just sit and run the legs off the usual suspects ahead of arguably the biggest game in the clubs recent history - again baffling from the manager.
If I never see him in an Everton shirt again it will be too soon.
I hope branthwaite has a blinder on Wednesday night and makes himself undroppable - even if he makes a mistake or two, I can forgive that when it's a lad learning his trade - I can't accept it from senior pros who should know better, and have stunk the gaff out for more than this season tbh.
Patterson should also play once fit - I just hope it's not a long one he's got.
I'm still with Frank and I still see some positive things from what he is doing, but I hope he can eradicate some of these odd decisions he's making and gets the luck he's/we needs to stay in the league and build for the future.
I'm still absolutley dreading Wednesday night - fair play to all the Toffees and toffeettes heading to dingle country.
I hope your amazing loyalty and support is rewarded with a massive 3 points.
I didn't have to walk the whole world to know it wasn't flat either.I don't read much into press comments or social media. No manager is going to say they didn't want a new signing.

They are all players of a similar level right now. The younger players can improve over time, but in a relegation fight, they aren't the best options.
The 3 players i mentioned make 3 mistakes every single game...each.
Id rather play the 3 kids and if theyre better then great...if they make the same 3 errors a game they can learn and improve.
Backing experienced failures does not end well.
I do think he now needs to make brave decisions. They are all players of a similar level right now. The younger players can improve over time, but in a relegation fight, they aren't the best options.
it has to be done now though, simply because of a lack of options elsewhere and the 'senior' players have let us down.I don't have an issue with giving them a chance, but it's just not true to say they are currently far better options. None of them have proven anything at this level and we are in a precarious position.
Backing youth is what we need to do long term, but backing youth in a relegation fight, in an away game at Burnley, is a recipe for disaster in my view.
To be honest I feel a sense of relief that he's unavailable. Shame it wasn't a straight red really because the defence seems more secure when he's not in it.In Keanes case you just get the impression he doesn't want to be on the pitch.
I am not saying he deliberately got himself sent off but I bet when he gets up this morning there will be a sense of relief that he is out of the spotlight.
Not criticising the lad I just don't think mentally that he is cut out for football at the top level maybe he needs to drop down a couple of levels for his own wellbeing.
Last paragraph is spot on mate.it has to be done now though, simply because of a lack of options elsewhere and the 'senior' players have let us down.
Coleman might not be fit for Burnley but if he is he'll play at RB you'd imagine. Mykolenko should stay at LB.
Godfrey and Branthwaite at CB simply because we have no other options. If VdB isn't fit then Holgate has to play in midfield again.
Horrendous choices. Brought on by dreadful recruitment.
There's little risk putting in a younger player instead of proven garbage like Keane.I don't have an issue with giving them a chance, but it's just not true to say they are currently far better options. None of them have proven anything at this level and we are in a precarious position.

This is exactly why we are in the poop now.We finished 10th, we then lost our record signing and sold our 2 most creative players.
