2021/22 Frank Lampard

kinda funny when Lampard and the Chelsea squad kept winning under multiple managers which went against all conventional thinking.
I have never said Lampard is perfect like.

ASsuming you mean when he was playing, top quality players win trophies, as you have shown under different ways of thinking.

Poor players dont suddenly become world beaters.

The main thing I'd like to discuss is can we still qualify for thr Europa league if we win all 10 games or are we that far behind even that would probably only get us 11th?
I can confirm if we win all our games, and Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Manchester United, Wolves, Leicester, Aston Villa, Southampton, Palace, Brighton, Brentford, Newcastle and Leeds lose all of their games, we will get 4th by one point (55 points). COYB!

The calibre of manager that we should look at or who should want to come to a club such as ourselves is going to be immediately put off by the fact its the owner and his agent mate dictating the recruitment policy. Most managers/coaches won't put up with that so you end up with the dregs like we do.

Also, we have done nothing in football for years and years, we have beeen in the bottom 5 for god knows how long. We have a poor record of giving managers time (rightly or wrongly).

Not many caveats as to why you would want to join Everton football club.

Hell ive been a blue for 25 years and even im questioning whether I'd take the job.
Also we don't give any manager more than eighteen months to actually build something you need two seasons minimum to turn a squad over and embed your philosophy. We are too quick to blame whoever the coach is when the entire club is a shambles and the squad and recruitment is dysfunctional and muddled. The latter two are far more of an issue than which manager we have although Benitez was one horrible choice. We wonder why even Potter won't look at our job when they don't get enough time or autonomy to build anything.

Our squad, no matter what you think of the mentality of the players, contains enough quality to be comfortably midtable.
Talent wise maybe but it has a severe lack of belief, confidence, leadership and guts and the make up of it is all wrong too(ie lack of mobility in midfield, lack of a dominant CB, full backs that can't get up and down). Plus we lost our three biggest creative outlets last season. It is what it is a dysfunctional and unbalanced(we have six wingers and no genuine DM?!) squad constructed by many different managers two directors of football, a sentimental fool of a chairman, a idiotic owner who listens to super agents.

As bad as he was, I don't think Raffa would have done as badly as Frank has been doing.

We won one in thirteen under him and he fell out with one of our key assistors in Digne, so he was doing worse. And you can cite injuries but our forwards haven't done much of a tap all season.

Oh yeah, he had to go. But I think, if he truly wasn't on a sabotage mission, he would have scraped enough points to keep us up.

It did.

Then you take out James, who created so much despite playing relatively little.
You take out Mina, who plays so little but as evidenced this season, when he does makes a huge difference.
You THEN take out our only full back threat and sell him to Villa.

You are left with players who are proven to have very little output.

DCL - had a real spark under CA, seems to have lost that (all be it may not be fit but cnat use that excuse forever)
Richy - inconsisent, doesnt seem to take the 1 on 1's that come his way.
Gordon - a real talent but his productivity is questionable
Gray - known as hot and cold when we signed him, cant seem to do much at the momenmt
Townsend -midtable all his career if not lower. Not a huge fan of him personally.
Iwobi - offers next to nothing.
Davies - ditto
Allan - good player technically, limited athleticism
Doucure - limited player technically, wonderful athleticism
Dele Ali - talentd but doesnt seem to have the drive (or event he backing at the moment to even play)
Rondon - lol
El Ghazi - signed evidently to appease agents.
Keane - slow, cant pass, has no balls. Does well in a low block where hes protected but anything else struggles
Holgate - distinctly poor player who believes hes a hard man.
Mina - really good defender, got legs of uncooked spaghetti that hits the side of the pan.
Branthwaite - ?
Patterson - who knows. Looks so good for Scotland but can t get in above coleman
Coleman - cant defend, cant attack, legs have well and truly gone.
Mykolenko - Looks okay some times but lost others, doesnt offer much on the ball.
Kenny - Looks okay some times but lost others, offers little.
Van de Beek - hot and cold.
Delph - good footballer, proper helmet and always injured.

Pickford - One of the few who have been decent this season and called upon WAY too much.
Begovic - back up gk
longergan - back up gk

I may have forgot someone, but when you pick an 11 out of that, its no surprise its not gelling in any way shape or form regardless of who gets picked. I do think Lampard should be getting more results, but I am also aware that cards he has been dealt are a mix of about what, 5/6 different managers? |The players are not only weak mentally, but have no beneifit to playing with each other. Keane's preferred/best suited style of play does not match with the likes of patterson.

Honestly, it's depressing when you look at how the club has been ran. Not just by each manager but by the board in how they operate. Selling Digne before sacking Benitez days later. Hiring a DOF but not letting him do his job at all with any trust whatsoever.

So to answer your comment, YES there is enough quality there to be midtable individually, but HOW on earth can you blend THAT group together? It's such a poor collective group of players. Individuals have quality but they do not merge with each other in an way shape or form.

Richy and DCL for example, I've never felt like they clicked at all. They dont suit each other.

As I said earlier, Benitez did himself no favours and was part of the probelm, but the players are the bigger problem. Lampard at times has done himself no favours but again, the players continue to be the problem.

At this stage I don't care about much about just scraping enough points to survive. The way Moshiri has run the club we could end up like Sunderland.
