At this stage I don't care about much about just scraping enough points to survive. The way Moshiri has run the club we could end up like Sunderland.

I'm the same.

Im awaiting May 30th and being able to look at the table and beg we are 17th or higher. It's such a poor squad in terms of creating a cohesive team, on top of that I cant see whos scoring the goals to keep us up. Richy isnt up to it at the moment, DCL looks way off. Gray looks a shadow of the player who staretd. Gordon looks great but doesnt have conviction in his final contributions.

I'm trying not to be completely negative but it is extremely, extremely difficult not to be. I just CANNOT see where the points are coming from. I've had this feeling in the past but always had it ni my head, it will pick up, we'll still get a few points here and there during bad runs.

This time is different. We have all the hallmarks of a club in crisis with nothing to suggest it will change early enough to make a difference.

My last hope is that bottom 3 now are jsut as bad as us. We have to win on Wednesday but CANNOT lose.

Maybe not but who did we have queing up to take the job? We are a mess and it's known in football. I like Lampard as a person whether he's cut out as a manager who knows the issue is even a old fashioned fire fighter wouldn't be making this rabble solid. So the only way out probably is to attack with our resources? But if your forwards aren't showing up either you are deep in the mire. Our only hope in my view is Burnley don't pick up more points than us and that starts with not getting beat on Wednesday. I am not confident though because what Burnley lack in skill they make up for in grit.

I don't know but there seems to be this way of thinking that a manager should be known to fans. I could be completely underestimating the average fan but how many of us knew the managerial CV of Bruno Lage at Wolves before he got the job? How many of us knew much about Pochettino as a manager before he went to Southampton?

Our approach to management appointments seems to be based on how much coverage they get on Sky Sports News rather than current ability - Benitez a case in point or interviewing Duncan Ferguson. Looking around at who is overachieving with modest resources or doing anything of note around the leagues in Europe seems like an utterly alien concept to the board.

Those are the types of managers who would be beating the door down for a chance at a club like Everton.

I don't disagree there is a lack of football knowledge at the club generally to look for someone who fits rather than someone who is a name. But I was talking about the candidates we seemingly interviewed it wasn't a quality list was it same goes for the muted names who put themselves forward. But yes I would have looked to a manager with experience of success in Germany personally or someone like Galtier in the summer our board is fixated on British names or managers who have managed here. The truth is though whoever the manager is I am dubious we would see much better out of this squad as I said above we need one coach to rebuild the side and to do that they need two seasons minimum but no manager gets that because of results and because the club is so dysfunctional, so you sack and sack and have mutiple people meddle in recruitment and end up with a poor constructed dysfunctional set of mercenaries as your squad as you circle the drain.

Can't believe Moyes said we should stay up and Frank's response was, "that's easy for him to say!"

Moyes was right. We might not have a good side to say the least but we've got better players than the teams below us. The same group near enough were in the European places 90% of last season, we're not exactly Norwich who just can't compete in the league.

It'd be right up there as one of the most epic failures in PL history if we went down. Although Moshiri and Kenwright bear a lot of the blame, Benitez and Lampard would shoulder a lot of responsibility as well.

We won't go down IMO. For all the issues Moyes would easily have us mid table as Carlo did. Time for Lampard and the players to earn their salary.

I can confirm if we win all our games, and Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Manchester United, Wolves, Leicester, Aston Villa, Southampton, Palace, Brighton, Brentford, Newcastle and Leeds lose all of their games, we will get 4th by one point (55 points). COYB!
Ooh..best get a wobble on then !

Sure.

I tend to agree with this. No matter what way you cut it, Everton going down is an epic failure at board level, in the dugout, and on the football pitch. Unquestionably, this will be the biggest relegation since Manchester United went down in 1974. So, basically, the biggest failure in nearly 50 years of top-flight football. The manager has no more excuses. He is paid well enough. Nobody is demanding or expecting top half form, but we are well within our rights to demand the three or four wins now necessary to keep us up. Any competent manager would manage this. Who knows, maybe Frank will too.

As for the players, well, the less said the better now. Every single one of them has failed this season, from England's number 1 who seems incapable of a clean sheet or a performance that inspires an unlikely win, to young Gordon who seems incapable of producing a final ball or finish. As for DCL, Richarlison and the rest - well, their transfer values have halved. And they are our better players.

Michael Keane, Mason Holgate, Ben Godfrey, Andre Gomes, and Alex Iwobi are embarrassments. Seamus is a has-been. Mina is a unit alright - an A&E unit.

These players are, basically, morons. Get rid of this rabble once and for all, whether we stay up or go down. They are not fit to wear the shirt.

The fans really need to stop looking for excuses for these cretinous failures. They are millionaires in almost every case and they are laughing up their pay cheques at us. The contempt they have shown the fans in their performances all season - and much longer - will not be forgotten come June.

Wages aside if we did get relegated and put the squad up for sale a lot of them could find other PL clubs. That just wouldn't be the case at Watford, Burnley or Norwich (or Leeds and Brentford). They really are Championship level sides with some PL quality here and there in the squad. Although a bit of quality in Eriksen coming into Brentford has pretty much kept them up as they were in freefall. He'd have probably ended up another Dele Alli or Patterson signing if he'd came here.

We're just massively underachieving for one reason or another. The fish rots from the head down.

We have a few players who are probably lower half PL standard or not even PL standard though.

Due to injury to key players, the Sigurdsson situation and Benitez’ questionable decision to sell Digne (we miss James’ quality too) the squad has been massively exposed this year. Apart from a few, the majority are bang average or worse.

Not sure I agree i'd say half our squad finds a decent club the rest never play at this level again or at least for clubs that aren't of our stature/history...

So does everyone else outside the top 7 or 8. Look at some of the bang average players in teams like Brighton or Palace, never mind Norwich or Watford.

Moyes first season at West Ham they were a shower and on the verge of relegation. Many of those same players are now in a Europa League quarter final and pushing for another top 6 finish.
