Blame the board for the way and manner in which Ancelotti left… they gave him an annual end-of-season get-out clause in his contract… and he exercised it.
What bugs me the most about that whole saga is that a couple of weeks before, Moshiri had just done his annual Jim White appearance and stated that Carlo was defo going to be backed during the summer (I mean its Carlo ffs) then all of a sudden, even though he was something like 4th or 5th on their list Madrid come calling and he is gone.

I know these players are crap - but under the current ownership, various permutations of these crap players have seen us finish 7th, 8th, 8th, 12th and 10th

This is currently a new level of garbage - and its not just the players
I'd say this is the worst combination of players in that time though. If it wasn't Everton and you just looked at this squad on paper, I don't think many people would be surprised to see them in the bottom 6.

Whoever the new guy was they were going to struggle is correct, but it was also correct in the summer given a 1.7m budget.
Oh for sure. I defended Benitez with regards to his summer budget and the injuries we had. But I think results like Watford at home and Norwich away coupled with him playing onto the old Benitez tropes of falling out with players and staff did severe damage.

Not to put added pressure on the bunch of precious players we have - but they should be told that they are literaly playing for their jobs.
We will sell every last one of anyone connected to a squad that sees us relegated for the first time in nearly 70 years.
To paraphrase - they got us in this mess - it's up to them to get us out of it. Or else.

They have contracts and if they dont have a relegation clause then we have to pay them what we are contracted. And we can’t sell them if they do not want to go. Hence Tosun draining the club thanks to Allardyce.

Anyway, if they haven‘t bothered their ass after a third of the season what makes you think they will try now. Maybe some want out, those without a relegation clause won‘t lose out.

it’s the fans that will suffer, it’s always the mugs that pay and make it all possible.

They have been daring everton to sell them for years. They know there's no takers.

Do you think we've got a relegation clause? We must have surely otherwise this would be another scandalous dereliction of basic financial protection.

He was good dont get me wrong but he wasn't in the same camp as a Lampard/Rooney/Gerrard imo.

Very few world class players have become world class managers.
Comparing apples with oranges. Def mids don't get the same recognition and weighting but Pep was just as valuable to the team as their 'stars' and when Cruyff left and Van Gaal came in he took over the captaincy and won title by 11 points.

Most players dont become great players and most great players don't become great managers - but it can help, and there are always at least significant top player managers across the eras and always midfielders in there like now with Ancellotti, Simone, Zidane, Conte. Sure as night follows day there will be more coming. Maybe more so as these pampered, branded, millionaire players look to someone they can aspire to and want to relate to that aren't in the same mould as the youth coaches nor of the old legend ilk.

Not saying Frank will make the grade but at this stage you can't say he won't either. Simone could have been kicked to the curb his first few seasons as coach.
