2021/22 Frank Lampard

Call them out in private - not public. Private is where you get the real work done. Public is for PR.

That's what Frank was doing: pretending he was managing with an iron fist. Alex Ferguson defended the indefensible in public, but hairdryered the lot of them in private. Sean Dyche had a go at our players in public last night. Frank can't take umbrage. He did the same.

I think he lost the dressing room with that. As much as its refreshing to see a manager call out the players in the modern game players wield the power as we know all too well.

He should have been diplomatic and sorted it in house whereas it felt more like self preservation for Frank (its this lot thats the problem not me).

I hate Allardyce, I have hated him more since he lumbered us with Tosun. But I love my team more than I hate that man and I think he would keep us up. That’s how bad we are and how much of a poor position we find ourselves in. It is very depressing.
He would park the bus in every game.
At best we get a couple of draws and maybe nick a lucky 1-0. That’s not keeping us up

Well I think your a massive wrongun for wanting Allardyce but that's just my opinion on that particular shout.

Apart from that appalling shout I'm sure your a lovely person and passionate Evertonian
I’ll say this I think Sam’s style of football is terrible and in an ideal world I wouldn’t want him anywhere near the club again, but in a fight like we are in he has a good record getting much lesser teams than us out of it, he did well here before (but football was still terrible, but results matter now more than ever ) and I do personally think he could tighten things up and get us the points we need. Also he wouldn’t put up with any ? from the players.

Just imagine he comes back plays Tosun who bags 5 to 10 goals and we stay up, what a story that would be ?

I appreciate your point, however you can have professional pride and not be a fan or too emotionally connected - they're not mutually exclusive.

Back to the Saturday league analogy - it was a team I played for to stay fit and a bit of fun. Yet, the humiliation of going down was very uncomfortable.

Away from sport, if I do a bad job in my line of work, I feel it; it's pride of achieving; it's the mentality of doing the best we can.
I hear you and agree with the general point, but the top level football world isn't same as the normal world because the mentality isn't always the same. I'd feel bad underperforming in my job, but when you're a millionaire who doesn't need it and gets ~£80k a week put in your pocket win or lose, pride might be an afterthought. At that level there's no worst case scenario because there's always another contract somewhere, pride or not.

For the sake of argument, if we go down and the club say "you can all stay and fight to get us back up but you need to take 50% pay cut" other than Coleman, maybe Gordon and maybe Holgate, who would honestly say yes and be determined to get the club promoted out of a sense of pride? Most will be on the phone to their agent quick as a flash asking for a move because their only sense of pride is playing at the top level not the second tier, whoever its for.

Just like when Ancelotti called them out multiple times, or Benitez called them out......there's a reoccurring theme and Lampard not calling them out wasn't going to preserve his job any longer than if he did.

Lampard stays, they go and that's regardless If we stay up or not.

I thought it was a mistake at the time because it absolutely smacks of a manager sending the signal that regardless of results he shouldn't be blamed.

Bunch of delicate flowers that he has for charges will never take it. Hell, it's always a high risk shot that, from memory, I can only really remember prime Mourinho getting away with.

People calling for Allardyce really don’t care about the club at all
It’s exactly the opposite, Sam realistically is one of the only managers primed for this exact situation we are are in, I don’t believe anyone has a better record keeping teams up. So saying us wanting Sam back don't care about the club is talking rubbish, the ones that don’t want him are the ones that are happy for us to go down without a whimper

It’s not rubbish it’s a lazy shout because people don’t have any respect for the club or any imagination when the only names they can think of every single time is Allardyce or Big Dunc

So your saying he wouldn't put up with any crap from the players? So what if we get battered 1st game and he calls them out, what happens then? They down tools and do you want him sacked with 6 games to go?

The players might not have any pride but ffs have some self respect as an Evertonian, talk of wanting an odious has been of a manager who hasn't done anything for years on end and your wanting to bring him back in after he was sacked for some of the worst football we've ever had to witness

It beggars belief for me it really does. If we get relegated we get relegated but I won't he grovelling for absolute no mark managers to come and try and save this shower of crap.

Lampard stays. The players can do one regardless what division we are in
