2021/22 Frank Lampard

Our last three managers had records like this
Ancelotti: two wins in ten
Benitez: one win in fourteen

Whilst he is questionable too maybe just maybe the issues go beyond the latest manager who has been here six weeks, maybe just maybe the fella who didn't put the squad together is less to blame than those who assembled it at great cost and appointed six managers in six years and the one who was managing us at the start of the season? The manager that jettisoned two of our most creative players. The owner who appointed that man against the majority will of the fans. Maybe the ultimate blame lies with the board and the owner?
Not completely blaming Lampard, but surely the owners or the board don’t pick the side and tactics ?

No they don't but in the last two games what was wrong with the tactics? I give you Spurs and Palace we were way too open but individual mistakes cost us the last two games. Also who does he have to pick from? He has tried everyone bar Alli and El Ghazi which does baffle me (I would be giving them minutes even off the bench)but maybe they aren't doing it in training? Look I think Lampard has issues to answer too he is a bit naive tactically and with his subs( maybe he should have made a change earlier on Wednesday), but if your players are braindead and gutless as was proven under Benitez what do you do? There are serious issues in this squad lack of a dominant centre half and leader, lack of a genuine DM, lack of mobile full backs, lack of creativity, yes we should be doing better even despite all this but I put the onus on the players. How many of them can honestly say they give everything? Maybe Gordon maybe Richy? We have a spineless and gormless set a few apart. Mina is one of the few leaders and he is never fit. Ultimately I think our issues are many this manager might be part of it but it goes back to shameful recruitment and a rotten culture at the club from the top down and the chickens have come home to roost. I just hope we are in the EPL next year to reset not the championship because as fans we don't deserve it.

Only a comment but our performances and league position would suggest that the players are not as good as we think they are. I've said exactly the same as you a number of times about the squad not being relegation worthy but the way this lot have been performing suggests otherwise.
I think what’s really killing us is our transition at fullback. Coleman should have had a replacement ages ago. Digne should have been replaced by a quality fullback the second he was let go. Hell, we may as well have kept him if we didn’t have someone lined up. Now that we have a manager that would utilize the fullbacks, we don’t have them. We screwed ourselves

Agree full backs are key in the modern game attacking and defending and we put off reinforcing right back for year's and when we do the kid isn't ready to come straight in. Add to that we sold one of our best players and creators in Digne to appease a manager who we sacked a few weeks later. Absurd mismanagement.

Make no mistake, when James wasn’t an Evertonian we were running the game through Digne (until Benitez came in). What hurt Digne more than anything was having an incompetent right side that struggled to offer any threat. Teams never had to worry about us switching so he’d be manmarked out of games. You need both sides to be running at full throttle. We have no sides

Martinez has gone onto manage Belgium as one of the top sides in the world, Carlo seems to have Real ticking, Marco Silva is blazing through the championship, Koeman has just been given the Netherlands job for the world cup.

Maybe we start to think that it's not the managers, because before and after they are here, they do well.

Watch us sack Frank and him go on to be a top manager

Apart from Koeman, I agree mate

This crop of players definitely has a rot at its core. Only takes a few to have the wrong mentality in the workplace and it seeps in everywhere

My prediction

Man Utd (H) - W
Leicester (H/Night Game) - W
Liverpool (A) - L
Chelsea (H) - D
Leicester (A) - L
Watford (A) - W
Brentford (H)- W
Crystal Palace (H/Night Game) - W
Arsenal (A) - L

Stick 100 on them first two on an acca you'll get a nice coke fueled holiday out of it.

Only possible saving grace might be that Leicester, Brentford and Palace will have nothing to play for in our games against them. All easily safe, but no chance of Europa League. Win them and we're safe, but easy to say that when we have won only 7 games this season. To expect to win 4 from 9 after the form we've been showing is nigh on stupid in my opinion.
Half them 7 in the first 3 games

The big difference with Carlo and Frank is, that Carlo seems to do better setting up a team with a gameplan to get a result.

Whereas I don't see Frank maneuvering his players like chess pieces like Carlo does.
And about 40 major trophies

The players are still the main issue in my eyes but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Sadly for Lampard he has nothing on his CV to also justify the opinion that he could push us on whereas regardless of your feelings about Benitez he was still one of the most decorated managers of all time.
Aarrruuuuuuuu

Unfortunately for Frank there seems to be a protocol for managers battling through relegation, that you employ the seasoned pros to avert the drop. As they're the ones who are capable of withstanding the pressure this is a flawed outlook, especially in Evertons situation where the veterans are very much culpable behind the frequent debacles. We lack experienced alternatives through injury and poor recruitment, youth needs to be favored and those not considered ideal for a relegation battle like dele. The usual players have failed repeatedly and show no signs of redeeming themselves. Frank needs to utilize unorthodox methods not abide by the steve bruce mentality of just trying soldier a victory.

Need to get rid of the British core for me. Egos too big, mentalities too fragile, fees too expensive and wages far too high.

If we replaced Pickford, Coleman, Kenny, Keane, Holgate, Davies, DCL and Iwobi (yes technically Nigerian but raised in London) we'd be miles, miles better off for it.
