Okay, but still he is a winger not known for high jumping of defensive qualities. Why wasnt the Lb covering that part?Just as a matter of interest Iwobi is 1metre 83 which converts to 6 foot.

@ForeverBlue92 I see you've changed your mind about backing the manager over the players.
Shocking that you won't give him the time you gave Paella Tits
No idea mate, it may just have been because Iwobi is taller than him, or perhaps because Mykolenko wasn't considered the better person for the job, Or maybe it was just a cock up. Not right to suggest that our plan was to have a midget taking the post though is it?Okay, but still he is a winger not known for high jumping of defensive qualities. the year is 2023, Frank Lampard stands between Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher while presenting MNF.
Gary compares his disastrous Valencia job with Frank's Everton, they all breakout in rapturous laugher.
Our performances have improved a lot under FL , we have dropped several points since he came because of individual errors and mistakes made by players and he can hardly be blamed for that, even last Wedneday we saw it happen again.
He arrived with one day of the window remaining six weeks ago , had the option of one loan deal only( Van De Beek) and I think the Dele deal that was something cobbled together as an extra bonus for him which clearly has not worked so far.
Yet our home form has been better at home under him we have won two in the league and two in the cup, also unlucky versus City? Look I don't think he is doing great(especially away from home either) but I blame him less than the players and who bought the players. I am starting to think that whoever the coach is our job is very tough because every other issue. Are you taking the piss?
The performances are worse than they've ever been.
Some xG data to add.
Benitez
Average xG for 1.32
Average xG Against 1.69
Average xG differential -0.375 (15th out of 20)
Very poor sackable form. Even with the caliber of player available much better must be expected.
Lampard
Average xG for 1.02
Average xG against 1.86
Average xG differential -0.833 (19th out of 20)
Must be classified as even more sackable.
As funny as that is. It sounds like the kind of black humour that absolves our cowardly squad and our dreadful board of responsibility? And shifts it to someone who has been here two months? And who maybe didn't have the required experience in the first place. See also fans of other clubs revelling in ours/Lamps's struggles. It's beyond one manager we have had seven in six years the rot is deep.the year is 2023, Frank Lampard stands between Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher while presenting MNF.

Moshiri's transfer business is the number one reason either manager struggled. Shoestring budgets to try and build the squad they wanted.Yet our home form has been better at home under him we have won two in the league and two in the cup, also unlucky versus City? Four major issues with the squad regardless of who the coach is. Full backs that can't get up and down(Digne was sold). The two we brought in weren't ready to start straight away clearly. Only one centre back that's a genuine leader and of required standard and he is always injured. No recognised DM.
No recognised playmaker. (James sold and Sig otherwise in disposed). When you add in the under performance of the forwards, the injuries and VAR it's a perfect storm.
Don't disagree with any of that mate the only feint hope I have is we can dig out a few results at home but it's probably false hope. It appears everything is going against us injuries, mistakes, Var decisions. I agree Lampard hasn't been good overall either but he still isn't the main reason why we are here. The squad and how it was put together and the Benitez appointment I see as more crucial. The problem is we have been struggling after that first six weeks of the season arresting that (and our away form which if we are honest has been rotten for year's)would take a lot especially with a team in trouble maybe Lampard was the wrong choice in this circumstance as he is more of a "progressive coach" which is hard to instill in a team mid season, but it appears our board didn't look beyond the usual group of known names to them. Maybe we just needed another steady hand firefighter but nobody wanted that either after Benitez....Moshiri's transfer business is the number one reason either manager struggled. Shoestring budgets to try and build the squad they wanted.
At the beginning Benitez had a great run but it wasn't sustainable, he was getting good luck. Though there were excellent performances at the very very beginning, the signs were there (Norwich and Burnley at home, despite being wins, were tepid performances).
Injuries and luck turned everything around at once, and Benitez completely failed to adapt. Watford was a horrible performance, but they should have beaten Brighton and Brentford, those poor results were bad luck. After the horrific capitulation and deserved defeat to Norwich, of all teams, it was clear he needed to be sacked. It seemed like just about anyone could come in and do better.
Fact of the matter is though that set a marker that wasn't good enough. Right now Lampard just isn't even hitting that. The away performances have been consistently horrific. At the moment the home form is not that bad, but only Leeds and the Brentford FA Cup win appear to be offsetting how much worse they've been away.
I hope I'm wrong about all this but fact is Lampard has them on relegation form and the performances will have to substantially change.
They all pine for the kopite@ForeverBlue92 I see you've changed your mind about backing the manager over the players.

Frank Lampard is at Everton for barely two months, how can anybody say he is responsible for the mess we find ourselves in which has been developing for years?
If we are relegated I think he should be kept and let rebuild the club gradually, I am quite impressed by him.
Would he want to stay is another question.
Our last three managers had records like thisCos he can only muster 2 wins in 10. Why would we keep a manager like that
