Bruce got the WBA job a few weeks back.;)

Pep and Zidane, rare exceptions, but most top managers struggled in their first few jobs.

Im not for 1 second suggesting he will make that tier, but he needs time, granted he doesnt have much atm, but nobody becomes a top manager overnight.
Ferguson, Klopp, Mourinho, Tuchel, just off the top of my head - all showed promise very early on in their careers. They certainly didn’t struggle.

I’m not writing him off but before we got him, I saw little in his management style that impressed me. He certainly didn’t earn the Chelsea job.

If he gets us into an unexpected run of form now, I’ll be happy to be proved wrong.

I wouldnt say Lampard has struggled, as such, he did ok with Chelsea in his first season.

Maybe I shouldnt have used Pep and Zidane then, you are talking about elite managers, again, I wasnt suggesting that Lampard is or could be.

I simply think we should afford him time and realise that things take time. The perfect thing is Arteta at Arsenal, was like 1 defeat away from getting the sack, a few times, now look at him, got Arsenal flying.

I keep saying it, but we really need to give a manager time, try and keep the faith in the dark times.

Only Martinez has been given real time since Moyes and he crapped the bed.

Lampard might not be the answer, but lets find out.

Your thoughts sir ?

There`s pages of similar stuff from you in the vaults too.
My thoughts? A great win, one that gives us a chance. Delph - whose availability I suggested was a positive this week - was critical to this win. If he can stay fit for the season, we might have a shot at saving ourselves and mitigating the handicap of having a novice manager learning on the job. Today is a much needed respite. But fundamentally, little has changed. We are in a dogfight and Frank has to find a way of picking up points on the road or today will simply be his equivalent of Benitez's dramatic victory over Arsenal in December.

Didn't Ferguson get sacked at St mirran and klopp got a team relegated in Germany maybe Mainz so cant have started that well can't really judge a young manager after 10 or so games have to give him till end of season anyway if get relegated so be it

Just say shut up and mic drop.

He certainly gets ‘it’ more than the last few fellas, which is a massive plus and goes a fair way in helping him

As he said, a win is a win and we need to build on it (which we haven’t done so far under him) but we’ll be back at home in a week and a half, and it’s a massive chance to get another 3 in the bag
