Yeah but are we making progress? Teams around us can also claim pens or decisions going against them. This argument balances itself out. Leicester gave us a footballing lesson. They pass and move we pass and stand still. What decision did he get right in this game? Lampard should be given time for sure. I am tired of chasing managers only to be disappointed. However the only way to judge Frank is by our league position and on this he is taking us down the table not up.He knew what he was doing to get the wins he’s had, same with getting the point against Leicester. He also set us up great against both City and yesterday. What can’t be legislated for is not getting pens v Southampton, City and the RS or having Allan sent off v Newcastle
Bringing Dele on was a good call. Got us a point in the end.Yeah but are we making progress? Teams around us can also claim pens or decisions going against them. This argument balances itself out. Good post and given the position he inherited, he had little choice but to tinker to try and find some wins and boost confidence. Under such circumstances, mistakes are I think inevitableI still think our big problem is Lampard inherited a completely broken squad. Fractured throughout, confidence beaten out of them.
That’s not saying Lampard hasn’t been faultless because simply put, his tactics at times have been woeful.
But I’m still firmly behind him, I think he’s showing signs of getting it together, but the problem with that is, had we sacked Benitez when we should have, he’d have had 11-12 games with that confidence growing.
Instead we look bleakly up at Burnley and Leeds who sacked their managers and. Got a bounce wondering how we get out of the mess.
Again though, we won a battle by Benitez getting sacked, but not the war as the board continue to reap chaos off the pitch. We needed to maintain the pressure, so when we lose it again in 6-7 Months, Lampard and Thelwell aren’t the fall guys, it’s the fat cats at the top.
Yes it is. Fans of every club can rightly argue this. Your point is tiresome. We are not where we are because of poor on field decisions or bias. We are in the zone because of poor players, poor managers(yes that includes FL) and a poor boardroom. End of. I am sick of it all.Bringing Dele on was a good call. Got us a point in the end.
And no. The blatant missed calls might normalize over time but when the difference between survival and not is clear and obvious mistake or just plain bias, that is not the same for everyone over a 38 game season.
It can be all those things simultaneously. The poor decision making at board room level and everything that stems from it has put us in danger of getting relegated.Yes it is. Completely agree. Frank’s been handed 2-7 off suit by the board and has been told to win the hand, to use a poker analogy. I think he’s doing a good job given the circumstances he’s walked into. I also have zero doubt that he’d get rid of all the wasters, sign some good young players, and get us promoted at the first time of asking. Whether he gets given that chance? I doubt it. Moshiri and co will be looking to blame anyone but themselves.Just a reminder, we'd won 1 in 14 before Lampard showed up. He's doing what he can with the hand he was dealt. I'm not sure it'll be enough, but we should absolutely be sticking with him beyond the end of the season, regardless of what happens.
Yeah but in the xG league we should have been higher up, so you know, let's hope they change the league table to xG instead of actual points won based off goals actually scored to win games.Just a reminder, we'd won 1 in 14 before Lampard showed up. We were 16th. Based on XG stats we should have been 14th.
I think he would have had us grind out results against Newcastle and no way would we have lost 5-0 to Spurs. I very much doubt we would have got a red card 3 games in a row either.
We are in the bottom 3 last chance saloon. We have a choice, fire Lampard or stick with Lampard.
I can't guarantee a change will save us. However I guarantee not sacking Lampard condemns us to relegation.
We need big Dunc to take charge now. Give us pride, give us ambition, give us someone who understands the club.
Do you honestly think that is what will magically change things in the last 6 games of the season? Get out of here with that. It doesn't matter who is managing at this point, these players have had multiple managers to turn things around. We are in the bottom 3 last chance saloon. We will find you back here tomorrow night while your team are in a semi final. That’s how you lot like to roll.I look forward to bumping my post next month once the super Frankie's have relegated us
Duncan is our best shot. Look at Burnley. Needs to happen asap though.
