What about benitez first 12 v Frank's first 12.

Every managers last 12 games before they are sacked is going to be abysmal reading including Frank's if ever it comes to it. (Hopefully not)

So far he isn't doing as good as Benitez. Once you dont manipulate and take away games that are inconvenient. But frank has time to put that right. And hopefully its not after we are relegated.
A managers start is not really relevant when comparing managers (not sure why we compare them anyway but whatever...)

If it was you would never sack a manager as they were good once for a couple of games etc.

Yeah well I agree. I was just making the point to wait and see what he does before comparing. Survival would mean he did a better job statistically and everything else.

So in other words he's a yes man. and does what the owners want. Why do people think he was on the shortlist? It wasn't because of his achievements or 0 trophies won... Nevermind firefighting in relegation.

The Super Frankies only retort is to call you a wrongun. No answers whatsoever. As is always the case. A bottom of the barrel defence for a bottom of the barrel manager
Sniff sniff…..

Well then win percentage must mean absolutely nothing if 7% win percentage rockets you from bottom of the table to 8th place.

I like Lampard, he walked into a seemingly destroyed confidence dressing room. Benítez started with a clean slate, Lampard didn't, he is picking up the pieces of that utter disaster, who got rid of 2 of our most creative players because of his ego. That is unacceptable. This is on Benitez all of it on the football side.
Only he didnt start with a clean slate with some, it should of done but from week one we had some whoppers wanting us to lose games to hasten his departure, along with the disgracful booing of Rondon who they seen as a Benitez signing, just look at the match threads on here after the excellent victories over Burnley and Southampton at the start of the season, some knobs were moaning because we had poor periods of play in the game, it was pathetic.
Also this cleanslate should of been extend to every single player but certain ones, mostly Iwobi who had fans on his back from game one, look at his goal at Wolves he didnt even feel like celebrating with the crowd, i didnt blame him.

I'm all for Lampard, I like his opinions, his outlook and his honesty. But i backed Benitez because I want every manager to work out for this club.

I don't care about a proven manager, we had Ancelotti last season and suffered our worst home record in history.

IMO a young, hungry new manager is what we needed, I just think the timing was wrong for Lampard, he should have been brought in earlier as I think he would have signed a CB in the window.

If we go down, he needs to stay as I think he would be a massive pull for players in the Championship.

1.7 million to spend. Fans against him from the start even after the good start.

How did it go wrong?

You only have to look how good Frank's home form is compared to the away form, see the results now with a positive Goodison to realise if the crowd had been supporting the players from week one we would not be in this mess.
Arsenal is a great example, we only got up for that reacting to half the Park End walking out, we should of been up for it anyway

By clean slate I mean a fresh squad, a full pre-season nothing hanging over them. he then almost immediately started alienating James, who was popular, his boringly bad tactics sucked the life out of everyone including the players, when confronted by Digne, he sold him. there was the majority of our assists, along with gylfi, who was nobody's fault.

His handling of players and inability to try other things when all was going to crap, was all his own fault. he had the narcissistic attitude to take the job in the first place and he should never ever have been here. We are where we are and we and we need to come together for lampard now. then get rid of these waster players.

A bloke who finished 6th in championship and failed at first hurdle to quality, failed at Chelsea and taking everton 6 points from relegation into the relegation places.

Hes he best asset we have????? If he relegates us?
I think your view of him is harsh. You're asking him to save the Titanic when it's split apart 3/4 to the ocean floor.

There's nobody at the club with the career and experience he has. He's a winner, and there's none of them at the club.

He's still green as a manager, but I've seen enough of him to think he'll be really good down the track. Whatever weaknesses he has as a manager I would expect him to iron out in a few years.

As a club, I think it's better for us that the question is answered and he fails or succeeds with us, as opposed to moving onto another club and flourishing while we may be lost.

We need to get the board and scouting right first. Look at united they've been through numerous managers each manager buying their own players and now they've been left with a dress a toxic dressing room, similar to us.

The days of a manager having control of every aspect of the club are dated, you need skilled people in the top positions!

A clean slate?
No investment and a dressing room filled with injury-prone prepubescent girls is hardly a clean slate.

In order to get a clean slate, you need to clean your dirty slate. The cleaning stage should've been completed this season. Alas...

Maybe if fitness levels were above 85% they wouldn't be as many injuries. Alas by clean slate I meant...Oh ffs lad

Do you think it would have been a reasonable expectation for him to get about 59 points out of those pre-pubescent girls like his predecessor? Maybe a bit less to take into account Siggy? Not sure how to factor in injuries to be fair.

Any proof anyone wanted us to lose? Repeating a lie over and over doesn't make it true. I never wanted him but have never ever wanted us to lose.

Also, when people booed rondon, they weren't booing rondon. They were booing the change that was being made. Not because of who was coming on, but the player that was going off who had been our best player that game.

Excellent victories? Poor periods of play in those Burnley and saints games? We had 1 period of good play for 15 mins in each game and the rest was poor. It wasn't poor periods rather than one good period with a load of crap.they weren't excellent performances in the slightest.

Anyway, it's the lampard thread. Take your benitez love in back to the benitez thread.
