Because this summer we're starting over either way.
But if Lampard isn't it he's going to be the one sacked by Christmas.
I think we should just look around again at the very least.
Right, so we should, again, disregard the fact we offered a decent manager a good amount of money and a contract so we can sack him and start over with all the plethora of literally no one else wanting to touch our dumpster fire of a team, so he can rebuild, and we can have *another* manager's transfers...
Nah man this is just BS.
Get it in your head - this isn't the NBA, we don't get playoffs here. Relegation is a thing. Don't care how we win right now - it's not indicative of any style or anything. We need wins, however they come, not style with nothing to show for it.
Lampard's teams have played decent possession based football and he fits the hard working team ethic we require as a fanbase. There is literally ZERO proof this won't be the case after a good pre-season and some new players in.
Regarding your example of Klopp - he took over a team in our situation (Mainz), around January/February and played garbage football to grind out 1:0's to survive, if that's not familiar to you currently I have no words. The hard working, pressing, tactics came the season after. When he bought players he wanted who fit his way.
Gerrard's Rangers team played great football as well, very organised, possession based. He came to the Prem can't afford to play that right now, as it's a different league and a different situation. That lesson was quickly learned.
Regarding your example of Palace - they've done the same thing we've done ffs, glad they looked better in a game vs Arsenal, but we also looked great against City and lost. Arsed about that currently.
Obviously, I can be extremely wrong, sure, granted. I'd rather we stop the revolving door of crap managers though. The only good one we had recently was Carlo and he jumped ship. Lampard will definitely get decent results, gets the team, gets the league, is a legend of the game and looks to improve by not sticking to some dumb way of playing for the sake of it but being practical. Having a plan B feels nice at times too.
