2021/22 Frank Lampard

Why don't you tell us how you think we should have approached these games?
Then we can all tell you that you're wrong
It’s about time we all realised that we (well most of us anyway!) know nothing about Everton and football in general! Then we all need to bow down to the superior knowledge of this bloke in the good old US of A who clearly is of the opinion that he’s the only one who knows anything about Everton, relegation battles and Lampard’s tactics! May be someone needs to give Frank his number so he can benefit as well?

Right but in a month the results are done and we have to decide what to do.

Well then we let him get rid of the dross and bring in players that suit his philosophy. He's said in plenty of interviews he's had to adapt, everyone knows he'd rather us not play like this but needs must. Unless you assume first game of next season, whichever league, we'll play like we currently do now? (we won't)

And he is doing ok.

And its way more than "all well and good". Its the essence. The reason.

Like I say, you dont get it, and that isnt bad Why would you? Just accept that your opinion isnt one based on being a generational football fan. Maybe we are all wrong, who knows.
I really do get it.

This is going to get people riled up but I think the best place to look here is to the RS and Klopp. Klopp gets all of the passion and connection to the fans aspects that you're talking about. All of it is there and it does help drive the team.

But that isn't everything. Klopp is also a fantastic tactical manager. He's been able to engineer a Dortmund side that could compete with Bayern Munich to the point that Bayern had to tear it apart to stop it and then gone a step further and created an excellent side with them. He's able to dominate games and imo is one of the best at understanding all the finer points that matter. So go ahead and call me a kopite or whatever but he's really great at what he does and I don't think you can really fight it.

Point being you have to have both sides. Benitez couldn't ever work (he was a tactical mess too but pretend he wasn't) because he didn't have that first part. And I'm concerned right now that Lampard isn't going to have the second.

The 22/23 season kicks off at the end of July due to the World Cup this year, so I imagine in a months time it will be the end of the season and it will be a quick holiday for everyone and back for a pre season.

Well put mate, far more eloquent and measured than I could manage. The message is the same one I was trying to get across in my chippy sarcastic Scouse manner.

I understand that. It's why I want to take the time to find the right person to give the next couple of years to. Frank has basically gotten a tryout and has produced a low grade Sam Allardyce. Tell him thanks and find someone with more to offer.
It’ll be more beneficial finding a manager who lasts longer than 2 years!!

How about someone young, a winner, who had a great playing career who would have instant credibility with the players and who is likeable amongst the fan base?
Any ideas ?

Well I ask you this: have you seen anything to suggest that this time next year we'll be a consistent team with a consistent system and a more defined way of going about things week to week?

Yet you can't do it without mentioning my nationality.

I have a lot of reasonable discussions here. I'm not talking down to people because we disagree, I understand why people think Lampard has done well, I understand why people think he should stay, I just don't think that.

A lot of my talking crap has proven out to be not so crap in time. I'm not always right but I'm not always wrong either.

And I still think you'll miss Goodison, Sunday was special.
I'll miss goodison like many evertonians, ihave memories that are priceless memories of my childhood going the bullens with my dad for a few games first then the gwladys St with my mates as a 7 year old and queuing up to pay 75p or some silly amount on the gate I went as much as I could couldn't see much but I loved it. ST when I was about 18 going with my dad, remember Taking my lad his first game at 4years old, took him whenever possible he is now 22 and we go we sit in my seat and what was my dad's he packed in going 2 years ago at 80 so my lad took it on. Goodison has memories for lots of people in lots of ways Sunday was another and before we leave many more will be made, sad day last game will be I'll go with my lad but sadly not my dad he's to fragile nowadays, but new ground new memories the way it is sadly but it is what it is

Wayne Rooney.

Joking.

Frank might end up going in less than two years and it won't be preemptive
