2021/22 Frank Lampard

It’s clear that Lampard has changed his approach to the last two or three games, particularly against teams higher up the table, by allowing some pressure then pressing during certain points to try to nick the ball high up the pitch for chances. It’s working well.

I wouldn’t call it negative, or ‘Fat Sam tactics’, but pragmatic. And surely you want a manager who can work out the strengths of a team and be pragmatic enough to adapt to get results?

I also think bringing Clement in has been a really positive point by Lampard. He will have a lot to do with getting anything out of this useless group of defenders.

I think he needs to show some real progress the next 5 games to secure his job going forward. Whether we stay up or not there isn't any point to keeping him around if all he's got is trying to scrape points. We're making no progress in producing a style of play and while I get the circumstances are tough I don't think we need to wait another year just to find out he doesn't actually have it.
By some distance one of the worst posts I’ve ever read on the forum. Why though am I not surprised!

I've hardly ever used the ignore feature on this site but after reading over the last few days some of the negative crap and let's face complete and utter wummery being posted i am going to start using it. Sick of the same old posters spouting absolute nonsense just to be "edgy" or saying stuff just to get reactions. I'm done with quite a few from now on.

I think "pragmatic" teams often out a hard ceiling on themselves. You have to be able to go out and play your way and win matches. And no that doesn't necessarily mean going toe to toe with Chelsea and the RS, but being able to use a similar system to restrain both with appropriate adjustments that can be almost the same thing we do for Leicester but with different adjustments is better than play three completely different ways to try and scrape through.

And while I understand it worked on this occasion I think we need to look at what is most likely to work going forward.

It won't matter to you, but I genuinely believe this. The club needs a hard reset and no one should escape scrutiny.

Thanks for this Lasso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leicester is one of the few decent showings.

The Gray chance wasn't a clear chance and even if Mykolenko's was decent Chelsea still had two way better ones than ours.
???
The Gray chance was a clear chance though - he really didn’t need to go for the top corner! Mykolenko’s was also a clear chance!
You do realise that Goalkeepers have a role in the team as well? Chelsea’s chances were “saved” by Pickford, it’s what he does, it’s what he gets paid for!

What works, works. His time for experimentation and trying to pin down a defined way of playing with a poor group of players he inherited in a bad situation is not now. That can come next season. He has tried to play quicker, more open passing football on the front foot and it yielded poor results.

I see the game differently

Na. He's just American
The English are remarkably cocky about a league that despite being played on their shores is largely down to the intellect of a Scot, Frenchman, Portuguese and Spaniard and the money of foreign oil men and American and Russian oligarchs. Oh and the foresight of an Australian TV big wig.

I'm not even sure what you're providing?

@MikelsGoat this is a troll
