2021/22 Frank Lampard

Interested to see how Lampard will set us up against Watford. Really we should be going all out for the win here but does that mean we change our approach or still just play horrible and grind out another win?

The real test will come next season.

IF the club screw Lampard with recruitment again, and the necessary changes aren’t made in the medical department then the same thing that has happened to Silva, Ancelotti, and Benitez will happen to Lampard - we’ll lose our best players to injury and the ones that aren’t good enough that the manager doesn’t rate will try to have him out through coward saboteur performances.

If this happens, we all need to remember the fans singing spirit of the blues this summer and back the manager 100% to weed out the problems at the club. I can guarantee you now though that we won’t and half the fans posturing as super blues currently who back managers (as long as they’re winning) will be the same ones calling for yet another managerial change.

The lesson has to be learned that the manager is not the main problem at the club. Allardyce had a results bounce, Silva had a results bounce, Carlo did, even Benitez did, now Lampard has.

I am praying that Lampard continues this form and that the cycle is broken but it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the club screws him this summer, he puts his faith in players who have played ok the back end of this season, there’s a few injuries upfront, and we are back to Keane Coleman Kenny Holgate at the back and they all see the chance to get rid of a man who probably wants them out.

If this happens I implore people to engage some brain cells and not jump straight to the mindless response of ‘we should have got Graeme Potter’. You’ll all say you won’t, but it was only a few weeks ago some were calling for Allardyce.

Because of you.

ME PERSONALLY?!

I would like to issue this personal apology to the supporters of Everton FC for the hardships caused due to my unjustified lack of support for our former manager, Mr R. Benitez.

I now see that his kind, giving nature was the reason he was giving opposition 3 points every game, and not his perceived lack of tactical nous. I understand fully that his omission of both J. Rodriguez and L. Digne was not pomposity nor arrrogance, but merely cost-saving, thrift - if you will.

His hard work in the face of adversity will live long in my heart, and will be recognised as a true Everton legend for decades to come.

I hereby start a petition to name our upcoming stadium 'The Rafael Benitez Stadium of Wonder'.

Again, my apologies.

Dean.

That was right too.

He looked defeated and was making excuses.

I said if we didn't beat United he had to go. He got the win and we've turned the corner since.

Let's get this right: there is no one greater than the club. If Lampard had overseen a defeat to United it was the duty of the club to twist again.

Anyway, we are where we are now and it all ended well.
We have bell cheddars on here high fiveing already, I think given half a season to get a point per game there is a lot of managers who would have kept this club up, our fans fall in love far to quickly just like they did with Brands acting like he was a god, look how that panned out.

I hope Frank does well but we have lost to some absolute crap aswel and played some caveman togger so lets not crack open a bottle.

A win is far more critical for us than the way we play at this stage. Park 10 players on the line for all I care, as long as we get the 3 points.

We can worry about playing more expensive and attractive football next year and once we are safe.

The reboot needs to start with Kenwright getting webbed.

Watford will see this game as their ' last chance saloon'. Yes, I appreciate their relegation fate is sealed...but their impact on the PL status of others (i.e a scouse club) is definitely not so circumscribed..
I've successfully coached young lads in rugby...future ALL Black quality lads....and yes, successfully. Inhabiting the 'head space' of players is where a true coach's ability lies; because, prima facie, at the highest level, there's physical equivalence. I am without any doubt Frank Lampard presently inhabits that space in our Everton team.

So then, long stream of consciousness story short; we win this game with hard-earned, hard muscled, hard skilled...and hard learned '[Poor language removed] you Watford' ease.

Correct. The Mosh and The Architect.

Lampard I think will be a decent manager, but it took him about 8 games to see that you cant set up in an open way with this lot.

Weren't you the one with your dacks around your ankles and your legs quivering a couple of weeks ago and wanting Lampard out?
I said that if we didn't beat United he had to go. That's because I value the club more than any manager and always will do.

I also said that Lamapard was in the strange position of either being sacked for taking us into the Championship or a hero who saved us...no half measures with his appointment.

Fortunately it looks like he's going to be our hero if we can just get one more win.
