2021/22 Frank Lampard

These players have done these miraculous turn arounds before. Under Allardyce, under Silva, under Carlo, even under Benitez at the start. Until I see more than half a season of sustained form from them I don’t trust them as far as I can throw them.

It’s in their interest to avoid relegation at the moment, to play well and survive the summer window. When it looked like Benitez had a few of their numbers with Digne leaving it became their interest to get rid of him, just as they did with Koeman and Silva. When the players see their contracts under threat, they get managers fired. That’s their MO.

Lampard therefore had a golden opportunity to swing the axe this summer but I would bet a lot of money that we’ll see stories of ‘Coleman is worth another season’ ‘Keane is ready to knuckle down under a new manager’ ‘Kenny is a blue, another extension is only logical’ ‘we don’t need a midfielder with Davies back to fitness’. Then when Lampard starts to realise he’s made a massive mistake and draws up plans for getting this lot out in January, they’ll turn as they did on all the other managers and have him out before the Jan window.

As a club we need to be brutal this summer. A few games of decent performance from these charlatans shouldn’t overturn the abysmal application they’ve shown over the last 18 months under Ancelotti, Benitez, and Lampard until a few weeks ago.
You’re forgetting there’s a good chunk of the squad leaving as free agents this summer, this will be the single biggest squad turnover we’ve had

The way HE has adapted has been impressive. He got a very good back room team and will keep us up hopefully

Massive summer as normal but bigger one as the amount of players finally leaving and a few big sales

Not as many as hoped for. The two backup keepers are inconsequential and will just get replaced (I wouldn’t even mind keeping Begovic tbh)

The two loans return

Then there’s Kenny Siggurdson Tosun Delph. Yes there’s a load of wages on there but two of those players haven’t even played this season.

If we extend Delph or Kenny I’ll be fuming though.

Don't know about you but 8 players wages off the books before a single sale is a big turnover for Everton.

We are starting to see, some heart and fight from the team now. If they'd shown half of the comminitment from the last 4 matches (including the derby, just got beat by a better team), we'd be at least midtable maybe even top half. If we can take that into next season (with obvious squad improvements), I think we will have a good season. Obviously we need to stay up, but getting my hope back. A few weeks ago, I'd given up.

It’s only really 4 though isn’t it once you take out the loan players and backup keepers.

As I said it’s good from a wages perspective but really only two of these players have contributed this season (Kenny and Delph).

So it’s good to trim the wage bill but the core of this squad needs dismantling hopefully through further sales

AVERAGE PLAYERS IN INCONSISTENT FORM SHOCK.

But 8 players wages, regardless of how much they played, will help the bold happen.

Funny how Delph is coming to the end of his contract and has suddenly got fit and playing relatively well.

Mad that...

Due to our injury issues a few extra incomings won’t be enough. The core of this group has to be dismantled in my opinion. I’d like to see Coleman Keane Holgate Mina (sadly because of his injuries) Davies Gomes and one of DCL or Richarlison to go along with those being released.
