Lack of fire power Dave, for sure, but, lack of creativity as well and that is the real problem. When we play against the teams we expect to beat, they will keep it tight and hit is on the break. We have no idea whatsoever how to unlock a team that sits off us and challenges us to find a way to break them down.
Yes, and Lampard knows he needs creativity - hence the almost purchased Kudus.

Categories like 'deep completions' and 'progressive passes'. Pffft!

Utter nerd-speak.

It's not crude to just refine it all down to not having a strike force, it's just common sense. If you have a couple of strikers worth more than a balloon to a team then everything becomes better behind it: midfielders' passes reach their targets, and getting on the scoresheet gives something to hang onto and tackles on the opposition and tracking the of opponents all increase massively.

We've all known and said the issue is lack of firepower. We knew it before the manager and the media started talking it up. Let's not make this over-complicated.
It's just putting into context what you can see with your own eyes though. Not enough passes go forward, not enough passes go into the box, we don't touch the ball in the box enough. A new striker helps but it doesn't come close to actually solving those problems. Maupay is being talked about like he's a conference player on here but the bloke is well capable of scoring a reasonable amount of goals at this level if you create chances. We don't create chances though, so he doesn't. People thinking that signing Ben Brereton Diaz is going to make us a totally different proposition are living in cloud cuckoo land.

It's outrageous that.

Imagine that lot taking issue over getting howled at on the final whistle by their own fans. They were lucky it was just a shirt getting thrown at them - a brick would have been more in order..

There's something about this club that transcends all managers hired in the last decade: the team hit long periods of a season and simply amble about virtually downing tools.

I dont like the ginger get, but those players would fill their kecks if Moyes came back and demanded consistent effort.

We need to go back to that boot camp in Italy that Moyes put the wasters through...have them spewing up their cornflakes in the pre-season getting fit.
100% right, Lampard wants to be their mate and keep everyone happy at the expense of discipline and performances like that!

We need discipline back at this football club!!! Big Time...

+1 to this. A compete shut down from all things Everton-related would do me just fine. Don't need them ruining Christmas as well as the rest of the kin year.
With all the rumours doing the rounds it would be good if the club came out and and issued a public backing....

Unless he is being disposed of, I`m sure that`s not the case and talks will be going on behind the scenes with the board, Thelwell and Lampard.

This squad is better than 17th and if that is what Lampard is aiming for then more fool him.

Forget Diaz you can toss Lewandowski up top and we're still pretty crap

Yeah definitely. It's even more pertinent when you think about the quality of player we could actually attract though. Any striker coming here in January is not going to be someone who we can rely on to put away 90% of the chances they get and create goals for themselves out of nothing. That's what we'd need a striker to do to have any discernible impact on how we perform.
