It's just putting into context what you can see with your own eyes though. Not enough passes go forward, not enough passes go into the box, we don't touch the ball in the box enough. A new striker helps but it doesn't come close to actually solving those problems. Maupay is being talked about like he's a conference player on here but the bloke is well capable of scoring a reasonable amount of goals at this level if you create chances. We don't create chances though, so he doesn't. People thinking that signing Ben Brereton Diaz is going to make us a totally different proposition are living in cloud cuckoo land.
Maupay feeds off scraps when other forwards are alongside him. His movement isn't intelligent. Maupay may still yet provide us with valuable goals, but we have to get a primary striker in first.

The two charts reflect the vastly different strengths of the teams then and now: last season the problem was defence; this season it's having no attackers.

Ergo: if we get a couple of attacking players in January the situation will bound to progress positively for us.
One player has left and 8 new players have come in.

I don't want to keep sacking managers because each time is a reset and each time it doesn't help you turn over a squad which we need to do and I want him to work and yes generally we have been stronger defensively but Lampard needs to be better tactically. 9 won since he's been here, and three wins this season. Yes he galvanised us last season and I like the way he speaks. But the worry for me is he doesn't have the experience and nouse for this situation. He appears to set us out tactically one way before the game and if it doesn't work he can't change it in game and his subs are like for like. Why did he move away from 4231 that worked against Palace? Why is he playing Onana who is a 6, as a 8, or a 10?I get it we lack forwards Richy was sold and average squad players brought in and we had no forward for the first three or four games that's ridiculous . It's also on the players the effort wasn't there Saturday, maybe he deserves that next window and we aren't an easy club to manage due to the mismanagement at board level and the fan pressure. We are in a rebuild that takes time but he has to show progress with a style of play to get that time h have attacking patterns of play otherwise what are we working towards? It's not too much to ask after ten months regardless of the squad you have. Why are we giving him time if he's not showing enough? What will time achieve if he can't do these things and set up a team properly? We have to bring in three forward thinking players this January and he has to get results or even show some progress at the very least asap or he will have to go currently he isn't getting the best out of the players, the clock is ticking. I won't let the board off though we have had six or seven managers in recent years and each has failed because the mismanagement comes from the top, its no wonder Carlo walked we are run like a shambles if we are honest. It's no coincidence we have been in this position three or four times in recent years.

What kind is that ?

Pray tell.
If only this was 10 years ago - I have a cracking joke about a southern Tory being the ideal choice for a skirt-wearing center forward......

......now I'm thinking it will either get me a warning or a mention in the new year's honours ?

(not sure which I'd like worse tbh)

Forum rule number one.

Never align yourself with the forum bellend.

He watches from the sidelines, whilst those he’s stoked up, get the hammer.

is the outfit provided, or do I have to hope Tom Davies has something to lend in my size.......?!?.......

That's just completely incorrect though isn't it lol
It's entirely correct. Ya know, if you ignore Delph... and Kenny... and Tosun... and Reykjavik... and Andy Longerin (or is he still here? Because every club who typically plays once a week needs a middle aged third choice goalkeeper with about 8 careers appearances to his name, just in case) ?

What im seeing, is that we need to get the manager supposedly known for his defensive nous to come and sort the attack, and the manager who supposedly can't set up a defence and spent his career as an attacker, to come and sort the defence and then we will be fine.

Graeme Sharpened achy were far from prolific but they worked well together and were effective at moving the play up the pitch. We scored loads of goals from midfield, I think this is our best best, get a hold up playe4r who can net a handful, Mopey then comes into the game, and the midfielders have time to get forward and they will chip in too. The defence will be less under the cosh. Without that focus up top were are toothless and too easy to pick off
